Looking for a 8GB USB Memory stick - Sydney

Need a 8GB stick, been waiting and waiting but haven't seen any bargains posted for ages!

Don't like the really slow ones, as I tend to write big files to them. Wouldn't mind USB 3.0 if I can get one, but not really important.

Just walked to OW and Dick Smith and they were a fail. Anyone found something worthwhile in the normal retailers lately?

    • Cool - just up the road from my house.

But I cannot find any on the website. Might have been a once off special?

      • It's only $9 if ordered with 2.1 SW-S Creative SBS A200 speakers, otherwise it's $14.

        • $14 is still a good price, compared to Officeworks! They want $8 for a poxy lowest-possible-model Sandisk

Just found the 16GB Kingston at ITestate for $26 which is even better value.

No wonder I couldn't find anything on the site - who'd have thought to look under "Computer-Input Device" for memory cards LOL

        • OUCH on the 8GB speed… 8GB: 5/1.5 MB/s (read/write)

Bugger - that's like USB 1.1 speed on the writes :-(

I just checked my notes - all my old drives are 5MB/sec write and between 18 and 26MB read. Even my cheapo Class 2 Micro SD cards are pulling 10/4
