Nah, citibank plus.. that way you dont have to deposit money into the account every month to actually get the perks.

My citibank plus lays dormant 90% of the year no worries.

      • So which atm should I draw from to get the most benefit?

        • Yes

        • Any..

        • As far as I could recall, I withdrew NZD from BNZ ATM without any fees with citibank plus
I believe ANZ and Westpac ATMs in NZ do not charge withdrawal fees either
I found that in NZ I just used my credit card most of the time

  • Try to use the equivalent bank overseas, eg westpac for westpac cards, asb for commbank cards

https://www.hsbc.com.au/accounts/products/everyday-global/ Been great and is a truly global account. NO monthly deposit required - I just use it on holidays.

    • I opened this today just to test the rates. I got a 5.4 rate for AUD->HKD which is far below the spot rate of 5.56.

I think I will keep the account just as a backup in case I get locked out of the others but I would probably use my Citibank Plus > UBank Ultra > this one.

ING and Citibank Plus still seem the best

  • have a look at the ozbargain wili page for cards wit% no overseas fees link
