    i would check out Lebara
    i get it for my dad to call Iran. their normal per minute rates are very cheap and you can just top up the main balance without needing to commit to a large spend.

    i think its like 5 cents per minute

    i wouldnt bother getting one of their actual plans unless its better than what you currently have with your provider.
    just get an extra sim and top up the main balance with like $5. thatll give you 100 minutes

    Call using Skype or Whatsapp or Facetime for free if the other person has reasonable internet access
