Ceramic Coating Advice

Hi all I've got a 4wd which is getting scratched up pretty bad so I'd like to try and protect the paint work a bit. Has anyone had ceramic coating done before and can suggest a system that works and is at a good price?

Thanks

Ceramic coating won't do much to protect against off-road scratches, if that's what you're talking about. For that, you'll need PPF (paint protection film), which costs substantially more.

Ceramic coating is great for protecting against very light scratches and making it way easier to wash your car.

    • This exactly. Ceramic coating will do zero to reduce scratches, especially bush pin striping. PPF will help but if you're going to use a 4WD offroad as it's intended to be then you're going to get scratches.

Buy the cheapest colour option (white).

    Collect stickers.

    • Nah white shows every mark and scratch, there is usually a few non metallic paint options which cost the same as white.

      • White is also the cheapest when you buy replacement panels.

  • Save your money. Respray later.

  • just vinyl wrap the whole car

    • Scratch on vinyl is much worse than scratch on paint. It rips the wrap.

  • There were these protective covers on shark tank that some guy was pitching. Whatever you put on it will be like a sacrificial protection layer. Try a clear wrap on the front and sides. Wont be cheap though and once it gets scratched up will need to be replaced as well. Isn't having scratches on a 4WD part of ownership.
