  • Hi Hawamahal,

The code/discount is for our Modern Metal Base Frame only.

    Zinus.

  • Similar price to eBay.

    Double actually less expensive.

We currently dont sell this item on ebay, I think you maybe looking at a differnt item or not taking into account the 50% off discount you will get when using the code.

I am referring to the Artiss brand sold by ozplaza.living ,a well known seller on eBay.

Not some newbie seller pretending to offer a great deal on Amazon by advertising on OzBargain.

      FAIL!

Can you link to the cheaper bed on ebay? How much is it?

        • Which size do you seek?

          • @Dave Id: Queen

            • -1

@swalloweda: Having trouble pasting the links.

The Arliss is ~ $93 and the Janvier is ~ $84.50, delivered.
Both are often better priced thanks to eBay discounts.
              These are fairly normal prices.

Been toying with purchasing a single frame for the spare room.
Both brands currently ~ the same as OP's 50% off deal.

Doubles are currently ~ $16 cheaper than OP.

Metal frames are pretty much the same.
Slats seem to be much better anchored.

              Hope that helps.

@Dave Id: Hmm. Comparing apples with oranges here. Artiss is a completely different bed, different style, construction, no bedhead, the way the slats are attached. https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Artiss-Queen-Double-King-Single-…

Can't find Janvier but I'm convinced these are completely different products

                • @swalloweda: Apart from a bedhead,which I haven't used since about 13 years of age,the frames are the same.

Slats are bentwood which are superior to plywood.

                  Trained furniture salesman.

                  • @Dave Id: I'll bow to your knowledge on the bentwood.
I always hated having no bedhead though, as my pillow invariably gravitates down the gap. They're for my kids, so they may be less concerned.

Aesthetically the Artiss is too ugly with the exposed bolts though. Found the Janvier 16 with another seller and that's a lot easier on the eye.

I do like the padded tape idea to prevent squeaks. I'd rather not hear the evidence of any night-time activities.

                    • @swalloweda: Prolly get a Janvier single for the spare room, when it gets organised.

Currently arrange a modular lounge for a visitor and throw a single 100mm thick memory foam mattress on it.

Also have camping mattresses …. and a tent.

Fair dinkum …. ethically sourced pine plywood :)

Even funnier is their massively over priced "green tea infused" memory foam mattress.ROFL.

Bunch of clowns using OzBargain to stampede people into purchasing during a BS 50% off sale, when other sellers on eBay normally sell at this price.

                      Happy shopping!

  • The code you entered is not valid.
    ???

oh starts from midnight… just saw it.

  • Hi, what is the slat width and spacing between slats?

    • +3

I found this review for the base, however the dimensions are in inches since this is a US based review

      https://sleepopolis.com/bed-reviews/zinus-platform-bed-revie…

      • Hmm, that says the foundation can hold 680kg, which differs to Zinus's reply below.

Also looks like they're drop-shipping from China or similar: "Estimated Delivery: April 17, 2019 - May 2, 2019"

Anyway, I'm planning on using it with a zzzAetlier mattress, so 7.5cm slats with an 8.75cm gap will not suffice. Although if I had slat measurements I could see about adding two extra 'slats' from Bunnings pine timber range.

Unless Zinus want to sell me two extra slats?

    • @Lukian

      The slat spacings are
      Single & Double - 78mm
      Queen & King - 87mm

      The Slat Width is 72mm
      The Slat Thickness is 12.5mm

This bed frame and slats are suitable for all Zinus made Mattresses. Our slats are attached using a Velcro strip with even spacings.

I would not advise adding slats. But if you do go ahead and try to add slats on this or another suppliers bedframe I would suggest using A smaller thickness slat so it doesn't interrupt your comfort on a base that is likely engineered to give evenly distributed support. Maybe taking a slat to Bunnings is a way around this, adding slats may also cause added noise to the use of the bed, if they are bent slats and you add extra slats if the weight being used on the bed is not sufficient to straighten the slats under load this may also lead to discomfort and tossing back and forwards in your sleep.

  • @Lukian:
I will get you the exact dimensions of the slats and spacing Monday morning.

But in the mean time see below
-Their are 12 slats that run the whole width of the bed. (not half length bent pieces)
-The slats are made from ethically sourced pine plywood.
-This base and headboard combination is rated to hold 250kg.

    Zinus.

    • -This base and headboard combination is rated to hold 250kg.

This doesn't seem right, the base is steel. Surely this is the limit of the slats?
A single 75x18 slat would reach the rupture point of radiata pine at ~260kg load.

      • @Lukian you are correct, with normal use this bed frame is rated to hold 250 kg on its weakest point which would be the slats.

It does also have a steel beam that goes from the middle beam to the floor for sizes above single for added support.

        Zinus.
