Travelling to Hawaii in October - Options for Cheaper Accomodation?

Hi all,

As per the title, traveling to Hawaii for the 2nd time and would appreciate some help regarding accommodation. Itinerary will look something like this:

2x nights Waikiki
2x nights around Haleiwa area
2x nights Maui island
2x nights Kailua area

I'm pretty well versed in using cheaptickets/orbitz/all other online agents but I have seen over time things like Marriott/Accor/Hilton certificates/points etc. and wondering if these are potential options for my type of trip. I just don't know enough about these rewards systems to pursue them at this stage.

I also understand that AMEX travel credits might work out cheaper too.

Would appreciate any tips or advice in regards to this. Thanks.

    Here's what I normally do

    1. Go to sits life hotelcombined or whatever and find their prices
    2. Go to the actual hotels site and compare. Most of the time the other site will be cheaper, but get the actual hotel to match (or preferably beat) their price
    3. Enjoy your holiday

    Or

    Just Airbnb it

    • I agree with supasaiyan….I have booked and enjoyed immensely Airbnb when I have traveled to Hawaii.
The prices are slowly going up, but still a bit cheaper than even the cheapest hotels/accom I found.
      All the best.

      • Apparently AirBNB is not legal rental in Hawaii but I did risk it last time I went and used it.

Hey thanks for this. To be a bit more specific, I was after info around purchasing hotel certificates/points/credits to use in Hawaii. I've done the methods you've noted a thousand times plus used AirBNB a heap.
