I'm tossing up between
ASUS ZenFone Max Pro (M2) ZB631KL
Your thoughts please
spec wise M2 trumps G7
sd660 vs sd632
adreno 512 vs 506
5000mah vs 3000mah
G7 will likely get android Q albeit expect long delay after release, based on Moto history
M2 unlikely, as it came with Oreo and Pie is still not in sight ?
regardless, i'd still get M2 as battery life is important to me and sd660/ad512 is superior than G7 offering
I've got the Max Pro M1 running Beta Pie from Asus India. Hopefully official release isn't too far off
Maybe not the smartest thing I've done this year, but the update works
Compare specs here:
Compare Asus Zenfone Max Pro (M2) ZB631KL vs. Motorola Moto G7
Personally I'm waiting for the G7 Power, hopefully around $300. I like the big 5000mAh battery.
I just recently bought a Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 and it hasn't even arrived yet, but I've discovered that the aliexpress seller is falsely selling them as B28-capable, so I'll refuse delivery when it arrives. Sigh. This phone is the same price and better specced than both the phones above.
My thoughts too, but still not sure about B28
Regarding B28, the expert advice is:
Telstra: "for the best possible experience on the Telstra Mobile Network, use a handset that supports 3G 850MHz (band 5) and both 4G 1800MHz (band 3) and 4G 700MHz (band 28) frequency banding."
Others used by telstra:
3G 850MHz Band 5 **
3G 2100MHz Band 1
4G 700MHz Band 28 **
4G 900MHz Band 8
4G 1800MHz Band 3 **
4G 2100MHz Band 1
4G 2600MHz Band 7
B28 has almost the most towers:
1800mhz has 3729 locations
700Mhz (Band 28) has 2012 locations
2600mhz has 178 locations
900mhz has 61 locations
2100mhz has 60 locations

In addition, many rural locations only have 2 bands, one of which is 28. So living rurally means B28 is a must, at least on the Telstra network
Jeez, you're a legend
If you're on Vodafone b28 doesn't matter much
Can confirm. Most towns 1-4 hours east of Melbourne are majority B28.
Does anyone have a link to a good price for the max pro at the moment?
ASUS ZenFone Max Pro (M2)
Finally decided to buy Nokia 7 plus from Harvey Norman for $395.
Ticks all boxes for me
Stock Android 9 pie
Are you sure?
Is there anywhere in the settings that identify the frequencies
Band 28 is there on the Nokia 7 Plus, so don't worry.
