Best Place to Buy a Preconfigured Gaming System

In the market for a gaming pc, don't have time to build one. The most intensive thing I'll play will be PUBG at 1080p at Ultra.

What are the pros and cons of buying a preconfigured system from established shops like PCCG, MSY vs something like Techfast. Which route would you recommend?

Comments

  • Pro - pre built, warranty covers off on the building off the system as well as the individual components

    Con - 20% more expensive

    • Forgot to say, build your own. It only takes 2-3 hours if you've never built before, these days it's extremely easy.

      • +1

Don't have the time like I did 8 years ago. I remember spending copious amounts of time researching each individual component and the best prices.

Now I just want to plug and play.

        • Looks like you've already made up your mind then. especially if you're confident in having no time.

          • @fishball: Yeah, now the question is which retailer? Bit hesitant about off-brand parts from techfast. MSY is legendary for their service (not). Not sure about PCCG but I've only heard good things, though they seem to be on the pricier side.

            • @idonteven: You should do some research or ask for advice on optimizing your configuration, then use the online configurators to get an idea on prices.
Ask each custom builder for advice on your build, you might get a better understanding of what they can do by talking directly to them. Ask about warranty and technical support
Buying off the shelf is easy, but you either don't get the configuration you need and sometimes you don't know exactly what components you get in your system, eg generic / no name parts.
Even if you know or think that you know what you need, asking for advice might reveal the technical knowledge of the builder and you might actually come across some new ideas for your system.
