  • Loving these P&R deals. Such great value!

    • +1

      Yep these deals are awesome.
I've moved away from the usual ozb roasters (although I did try the most recent badabean one and it tasted like ass) and solely go for these guys now.

      • +2

Yeah that badabean deal was stale af.

        • I didn't find mine stale (the pour was actually amazing fresh/ very thick and gloupy), it just tasted like ash. the only one salvageable was flair, but only in milk.

          • @charzy: I've only made one of the Bada Bean packets so far. My partner walked in and asked what was burning.

            So yeah.

      • The Bada Beans are ok, they give a huge amount of crema and taste is pretty good, but P&R still a notch above and cheaper, so will stick with them.

    • Totally!!!

I find the coffee pretty awesome and fresh. Sure there might be slightly better elsewhere, but not at this price. Thanks P&R

  • Definitely great value although unfortunately their coffee just isn't very good anymore.

I think it's a bit of a dick move to hold a Super Thursday Coffee Tasting Session where they only gave out a "50% off your subscriptions first order" and then a couple of days later do this.

Was so terribly run btw. Coffee was cold and they refused to make more until it had been emptied. Not very many flavours at all.

Yes, I'll still upvote because it's a good deal and I'm glad of it.

But no-one wanted to talk about anything besides the really expensive coffees, I was not allowed to pick up from the warehouse and there was no actual point to being there.

  • I no longer have a ‘promotion code’ section on my account
I cannot complain had over 12 months of 1/2 price excellent coffee.

    • Create a new account

      • Code confirmed worked on my existing account.

        • +1

Where did you go to enter the code?

          • @samplegetter: At checkout halfway down

            • @karlgr90: Do you have to cancel and subscribe again?

          • +1

@samplegetter: Instead of going to your account and editing your existing subscriptions, instead go to the Home page -> Subscriptions -> Home & then add the new subscription to your cart. You can then checkout via the cart, login to your account, and apply the discount code as if you were starting a new order.

You have to cancel your existing subscription, unless you want twice as much coffee :)

      • I managed to use the live chat to get a support person to apply the coupon to my existing subscription. They're very willing to help!

  • Can someone detail how do I update this code if I have an existing subscription?
    Thanks!

For freshly roasted beans, this is great value.
But the quality is sub par, I've tried all three of their 'blends' and they seem to be mixing in some robusta beans, which is just a cheap alternative.

    • What beans do you recommend?

      • What's your budget? Preference?

        • Whats good for under $50 per kg? For lattes? Ive used campos coffee for a while but its around $60 per kilo delivered

          • +2

@renw: You can try Artificer, Sample Coffee Roasters from Surry.

Or ONA coffee, Coffee Alchemy from Marrickville.

For lattes, I remember one of ONA's being quite nice. Can't clearly recall the name of the beans but i think it was The Founder? It truly had a nice strong 'char' and chocolate notes but not distinctively burnt flavour by any means. Really good with milk.

Their Raspberry candy blend was one of the beans that tasted how it smelled. Pleasant berry aroma throughout.

Just my thoughts, missing a lot of great places but give them a try.

            • +1

@FIVEDOLLAR: ONA coffee looks pretty interesting, I will try to order some! The other one, Artificer, doesn't seem to have online ordering.

(In case you have other suggestions I'm after small packs of beans to use in cappuccino and that ship to Perth).

            @renw: www.baybeans.com.au

Great beans, rosted to order, free courier delivery.

Normal budget. Good flat white is important but must be okay for espresso or long black too. Been using Double Roasters which is nice, then recently tried Fonzie Abbot which is interesting. Wouldn't mind trying some others though.

  • Hi guys just wanted to ask whether anyone here uses P&R coffee grinds for their Nescafe Dolce gusto machines? I have the refillable pods which I use to put ground coffee in. Does anyone know the P&R espresso grind will be better for this use or the filter grind?

  • How does this work? Do I need to apply the code for my scheduled orders as well or just for the first time when I set up the subscription? Is the next two orders automatically discounted 50%? There seems to be no where else to add the code on scheduled deliveries.

    • Looks like same for me, can’t see the code being applied for next scheduled dleliveries or anywhere to chuck the code on again. Maybe need to cancel subscription altogether and resubscribe with code PIA

      • Confirming this works. Cancel current subscription and add new home subscription to apply code.

  • Can anyone confirm this code does actually apply for subsequent deliveries after the initial one?
I can't see it saying that in my account

    • I'm wondering the same - there is no indication in my account that this applies to the next 2 deliveries.

    • Somehow I think their system has changed a bit so the promo codes not sticking. I had the promo for 3 months since Dec last year but had to cancel and add new subscription for March and April.

  • How do I cancel my subscription?
I can't see an option on the mobile site when I go to manage subscriptions

    • +1

If you can see your active subscription, either scroll to right under column actions - cancel should be there. Maybe need to view site on landscape mode on your mobile

      • +1

        Thanks!

Don't know how I didn't notice that column earlier. Maybe I didn't scroll across.

  • Ordered Pioneer and Porter st with the last discount code, have ordered Porter st and Trailblazer with this one. Really like the body behind Porter st… Trailblazer is apparently the lightest of the three but might do well as a black coffee. Thanks OP!

    • Waiting on pioneer, how did you find that compared to porter?

      • It was less bold but not boring. I was actually looking forward to Pioneer more than Porter st because I'm not usually a fan of a darker roast. But I think because I usually drink my coffee as a soy latte, Porter st cuts through the sweet/nuttiness better and has tones to match. Pioneer is quite smooth and has more depth, it unfolds with each sip whereas Porter st is a straight hit, so works better as a cappuccino with cow milk or just black. Hope you enjoy it!

      • Also, I know it shouldn't matter, but I love the packaging from these guys.
