TECOBUY

TecoBuy are selling Galaxy Buds for $174 + $15 postage. Great for those that are after Galaxy Buds in a colour other than white. White and yellow are also available at this price.

Use coupon code "TECOBUY" for another 3% off.

Shipping should be within 10 business days as per:
https://www.tecobuy.com/en_AU/shipping-and-delivery

** EDIT - Update. Make sure to use a credit card which waives international transaction fees. I didn't bother to use my 28 Degrees card because I was quoted in AUD through PayPal (and PayPal wasn't doing the currency conversion or anything). However because the vendor is based in Hong Kong, my Westpac Altitude Platinum card charged me a $5.50 international transaction fee.

Not a bad price as you can get new ones from Facebook Market place for around $200

    • You'd assume the Aussie ones have Aussie warranties though.

If they're the bonus item with their preorder I doubt they will give you a copy of their contract/invoice for the phone ?

        • The ones seling on Facebook Market show the receipt so will be covered under Aussie warranty

All the ones on FB/Gumtree are white though. Nothing wrong with that, but I really prefer the black ones.

  • i paid $130 on marketplace. they are good i recommend them.

    • Hi
Are they good during phone calls? Like airpods?

      Thanks

      • +3

They're excellent, I can't believe people actually buy airpods. They're more expensive, look way more dorky, and have a tonne less functionality!

Airpods were released before galaxy buds were released.

Airpods work with iphones while Galaxy pods don't.

Thats why people actually buy Airpods.

@Bryanalves: Mmm… Sorry your whole post is empirically untrue, there is no way around it.

Iconx: June 2016, Airpods: December 2016.
Iconx works with iOS and Android.

Regardless, even if they were released first why would that be a reason you buy them today. The Samsung ones are so, so much better.

          • @Bryanalves: Both the Galaxy Buds and AirPods work with any Bluetooth device. I used AirPods with my Samsung phone until Galaxy Buds were released, which also work on my parent's iPhones.

You can't customise controls on the opposite OS, however.

          • @Bryanalves: They actually work better (quicker switching between devices) and have a few functions with iPhone that you don’t get with Samsung phone. Such as recording audio through Galaxy buds mic’s. (A feature you get on Samsung phone is ‘ambient noise mode’)
Interesting review here. With Pro’s and cons of both devices.
Personally I think the Galaxy buds are overpriced for what you get.
You are best off getting them for free with your Galaxy phone (wherever that promo is/was).

Disclaimer: I am yet to own any wireless audio gear.

You sure they're not the ICONX?… because $130 is a heck of a good price.

      • I saw plenty going for $130-150 on marketplace. White ones tho

        • Yeah the free ones with the pre-order were only the white ones IIRC. I pre-ordered the black ones and they arrived today, I doubt they'll be cheap for a while, as people actually have to buy them…

    • No lag on video?

    • How is that facebook group called? I'm looking to buy ones as well. Thanks.

  • These are good!

  • The package it comes in is tiny. If they are charging you $15 to ship this, they are robbing you.

The standard price for AU stock on ebay when I last checked was $190 to $200 for white ones. But this was during the preorder honeymoon period. Prices may have gone up once all the unwanted preorder freebies got sold off.

You probably won't get warranty on the preorder ones, but how much better are you going to fare with Tecobuy who I presume is based in China/HK? At least on ebay you have some buyer protections.

That said, if you're after a black pair that is an argument against getting the white ones. I sold mine for $150 to the first OzBer who asked for them and was in my area. I didn't want white, nor did I care for wireless buds.

    • You can use Paypal on that site, I got a refund really easy on some imported Galaxy buds that didn't work thru (Paypal Dispute)

      • You have paypal dispute, but not the mechanisms of ebay which can solve the problem before it gets to a dispute. Ebay can freeze the funds in the seller's account until it is resolved. This usually gets them to respond.

        • +2

A predispute! That sounds like a different form of dispute… works the same to me

  • I have been using the buds for a few weeks now. My only complaint is that the BT range is quite short compare to my other BT wireless earphones.

  • You can get the black ones if you have Samsung corporate rewards for $199.20 delivered with full 24 months warranty.

  • Great price and now even cheaper ($170 +shipping) but are these and all the other 'big brand' earbuds really that much better (3, 4 or even 5 times) than the Soundpeats True Wireless or Taotronics TT-BH052 buds?
