Anyone where I can get a office chair without casters / wheels?

  • No stock in Brisbane

Ordered two to pickup from Taren Point store, thanks for bargain had been looking for something like this for a while.

  • I was looking at this chair when shopping around a few weeks ago. I might have looked closer if it was on sale then. I ended up ordering a Ergolux Berkeley High Back Padded Office Chair from Kogan who had 15% off when ordering 2 or more and free shipping. It would be interesting to compare. Options seem to be fairly slim when looking at something with a high back, padded, and under $100.

thanks, got one, almost bought this last month, so this is a very handy price!

Thanks OP, just ordered one though the reviews on OW website are not great. Will have to check it out prior to collection in store.

Reviews on chairs are generally horrible.

Nobody buys a standard office chair and runs to review it. They only post a review if there’s a defect.

      • +1

The reviews are written while sitting on the broke chair angry lol.

IME anything at this price level is false economy if it's getting hours of use every day.

They fall apart in about 2 years and are not as comfortable or adjustable as more expensive chairs that are guaranteed to last a decade … so after 10 years you have more money than replacing cheaper chairs.

      YMMV.

  • Out of stock in Brisbane so the Pininfarina Xten looked like the next best thing.

  • If it's on Clearance, how's it going to have Warranty service?

Nobody thought of that! taps temple

Can't find the OTTO brand website neither. I doubt some O.W. could care less when you take it in under warranty 3 years later.

Okay so i asked Officework this cause i bought a clearance chair they said they could give me spare parts like wheels no problem (probably generic). Also said they would most likely give me store credit or a refund but he was pretty adamant on the store credit if the chair was proper broken.

    Thanks OP.
    I'll give it a try

Bought this full price about 8 months ago. Comfy, wide, deep sitting and stable. Probably one of the better seats office works has on offer. Being fabric means you dont get that PVC leather peeling off after a year too.

      Thanks for the review!

And then they end up on the side of the road for council pickup.

      I've got one as well.

Really appreciate that the lean-back hinge point is further forward than most chairs - so you don't have to forcibly push yourself back to lean. And because I've got mine dialed right down to soft, it's a nice easy lean to get comfy.

Hinged arms are good for those who like them either way. Fabric is pretty standard; can't say how long the stitching will last but not a deal breaker in any form - I'd prefer it over faux leather any day.

    • Hey my partner is rather short. Like 5ft, will this be okay for them?

    Ready for collection. Thanks OP!

  • No stock anywhere near where I live in Northern NSW…not even on the Goldy

    Thanks, ordered one

  • How is this compared to ergohuman?

    • +1

Ergohumans go for 4 times the price

  • No stock in regional NSW, limited stock in ACT. Sucks because this would be perfect, looking for a high back office chair that tilts (reclines), preferably fabric, under $100.

  • So it's not suitable if I want to sit in it for 2 or 6 hours?

  • Sweet, really needed a new chair. Hoping this will be comfy. Ordered from Officeworks Fitzroy (VIC - apparently they still have stock)

  • Checked 100 stores, all out of stock

  • Pick mine up last night.
    Good value and comfortable

Yarraville had 9 in stock when I collected mine yesterday

Between this and the Aldi high back I would go the Aldi. Aldi had a head rest and lumber support adjust

The tilt on this chair is very limited and the seat height even at max is surprisingly low
Seat on this is comfortable enough

It's OK but I will probably be returning mine.

    • Yarraville still had 5 when I returned mine on the weekend plus one on the floor

  • Purchased! One left on the floor at East Vic Park Perth. Very comfy, tried a few while I was there but this was defiantly the best. Cheers

  • I've got a click and collect order that keeps pushing back the date. I should just cancel it right…?

Ordered Monday. Said ready to collect Thursday (waaaaat), Thursday came said Friday. Now it says Monday.

    • I would just wait, unless you're having second thoughts and don't want it anymore.

      • Yeah I'm planning to just leave it maybe for another week. I just don't see it coming back in stock. It's clearance right?

        • Yes it's a clearance item. My guess is that they're getting it shipped in from another store as they would've cancelled if there was no stock.

    • Ordered mine tuesday morning was ready to collect tuesday arvo, could always just give the store a ring and ask if they could tell you when more stock is coming in? or possibly have them get to from another store?

    • Rung today. Apparently my order was cancelled over the weekend due to a security issue. Wasn't the case when I called last week.

I was able to place another order just now though, hopefully this one goes through.

      Still stock at South Melbourne.

  • I got a refund. Some people are getting them now?
