Sherpa’s Stay Dry Hiker Rain Jacket is a lightweight, compact and affordable rain wear option for all. It comes with its own stuff sac and if that is lost can also be folded away into one of its pockets. Once folded away into its own pocket this jacket can also function as a small camping pillow, perfect for overnight camping/bush walking adventures. It is small enough to fit in a glove box, carry on bag, school or office bag, knapsack, etc. so that you are always ready for the unexpected.

The Hiker jacket is made from a PU coated polyester and has a mesh lining. The jacket has a 5000mm waterproof rating so the Stay Dry Hiker will keep you dry in all bar the heaviest rain or most rugged conditions. It also has a foldaway adjustable hood to keep your head dry. Furthermore the rain coat is rated 3000mvp for breathability. With its inner mesh lining and ventilation flap this jacket will retain natural body heat in the cold but not let you overheat in warmer conditions.

  • Thanks. Any deals for waterproof pants?

  • Hi, Sorry no discounts on our rain pants at the moment although they are already very well priced at just $60. (shop here: https://sherpa.com.au/product/stay-dry-hiker-pants/)

You can check out all of our clearance deals here -

    Happy shoppping!

  • Never heard about the brand before..any reviews?

    • I haven't owned anything but they are a brand well used in Nepal for mountain climbs. The popular ones being North Face and Sherpa. Others are popular but I can't recall the brands.
I looked at the waterproofing ratings and breathability and decided to buy 2. I bought organs for visibility and plan to use them while cycling. Just nerd some waterproof pants now.

      • cool, thanks

      • Are you sure the brand you saw in Nepal is the same as OP?

        https://www.sherpaadventuregear.com/

The logo and websites are clearly different. There are reviews for "Sherpa" but they all refer to the above not the OP

    • +1

Would recommend gear from these guys. Good quality for the price point.

      • Have you bought/used this jacket specifically?

  • Thanks OP. Bought xs and kids jacket. Hope it fits us. :-)

  • Hi OP. I am in the market for a hiking jacket so this is great timing. Is there any difference between this jacket on clearance and the one for $70 other than colour options?

    • The colour is the only difference. Cheers.

  • Hi Op, Would this be suitable for trail running ?
Also, do you have any jackets with Waterproof rating of 10000mm?

  • I wouldn't use or recommend this jacket for serious trail running. A bit too warm (it has a part mesh lining) and possibly a touch too heavy for some.

Our highest rated (for waterproof fabric) jacket is the Sherpa Trekker at 8000mm.

We have just found a small number in limited sizes of the previously listed ThermaTech Waterproof Jacket which was approved by the organizers of the upcoming UTA event in the Blue Mountains for their 'mandatory' gear list. These should be listed later today or on Monday.

You will also find the ThermaTech Packaway Running/Cycling Jacket on our site. It is a very lightweight, drop tail running jacket. However, the seams are not sealed so it wouldn't qualify for the UTA mandatory gear list. But it is still pretty popular with runners.

    Cheers

    • Small not listed for ThermaTech Waterproof Jacket(Mens).
Anyways, Thanks for your help OP, was looking for a waterproof jacket for UTA. Is there anything else you can recommend?

  • No, I'm afraid not.
