Samsung NU8000 55" Series 8 Premium 4K UHD LED TV $1095 @ JB Hi-Fi

220

Excellent TV & the cheapest I have seen it.

I recently got the Hisense P7 for $895 but this TV was $200 more at the time & would have jumped at this deal.

  • Just picked this up last week at this price and highly, highly recommend. Such an awesome bit of kit!

picked up this last week for $985 after 10% through Good Guys eBay.

Fantastic TV for gaming but would recommend waiting for this price again if it's not currently available.

    • $985! That is a superb deal.

I wouldn't recommend waiting though… We're about to be flooded with 2019 TVs now & prices will rocket v.soon. I call this the golden hour of the year for getting a cheap TV.

      • was pretty stoked. hope you're right for those picking one up at this price

      • The RU8000 has just been released, I'd expect the NU8000 to often be this cheap until sold out.

    • How about watching sport? Is the motion any good?
I'm very tempted to go all out and get the 82" version at this point

      • I was looking at the 82" but could not get it to a price point close to my budget. But I've seen one on a mates wall and it looks massive! I'm happy with the 75" though, it fills my wall well and at 2.8mtr viewing distance is big enough….

Sports wise, we have been watching AFL and Moto GP both though live to air SD/HD broad casts and Kayo casting and it's pretty good. I've been fiddling around with settings for each and came to what I believe is a good compromise with sport, as well as movies/gaming etc. At first I had some artifacts with say the ball in the AFL on SD broadcasts but I have managed to get rid of them etc.mostly…. Off memory I think I have the motion stuff turned off, but I would have to have a look if you needed more info.

My wife enjoys the picture for sports - she used to complain about the quality from our Brahun 65" that this has replaced, but has nothing but praises for this set. I find SD broadcasts (or any SD tv) hard to watch in anycase, guess I'm used to the good stuff. I'm really, really impressed with this unit, and glad I spent the extra $$ over the 75" NU7100 I was looking at at the time. HDR gaming on my PS4 pro/exbox is amazing…

        • Cheers for the info, any blooming when watching movies/tv shows in the dark?
I read that the 2018 models have the subtitle blooming issue when in dark scenes? have you encountered this by any chance?

Does the Good Guys 30 days policy price match also work with their ebay store?

  • I just picked up a 75" NU8000 a couple of weeks ago and it's fantastic, best TV I've owned! With this price I'm probably going to replace our 2014 40" Samsung tv in the bedroom as well. :)

    • Hey, just curious as to what you paid for the 75"? Thanks

$3200 from Good Guys, however they just price matched them selves at $2995 this afternoon with a refund under their 30 day policy. There have been cheaper prices I believe ($2800 comes to mind) but I had some GG credit I had to use and they also did some killer pricing on a Yamaha YSP2700 and Dyson V10 for the wife! :)

    I'd love this deal in a 65" model :(

  • Bought this TV for $1129 a few weeks back. Well worth the money - superb picture and speedy interface. Has netflix/stan/foxtel/sbs etc and very easy to use with the smart remote (which weirdly enough can also control my xbox)

    • It controls my Xbox and PS4 Pro as well - quite cool if you just want to watch a movie etc and don't want to get the controller out!
