I’m in a market for an action camera. Can anyone recommend action cameras that’s not a GO Pro. As I’m probably going to use a few times a month and don’t to pay premium prices. Looking for best value.

Id recommend trying to pick up a used gopro, if not id look at xiaomi as mentioned
The older GoPro's have a terrible user interface though. Like an old style digital camera.
Xiaomi 4k+ is better spec than the GoPro 5. The GoPro Hero 5 hack makes for quite a cheap action camera though!
I've got the xiaomi yi 4k plus which is a good camera but I haven't used it a lot yet. But with some of the deals for gopro recently I kind of wished I bought gopro instead.
xiaomi yi 4k plus is better than the gopro in my opinion.
battery lasts a little longer, accessories are cheap as.
they use the same attachments as gopro.
I have Yi4K+ used it for a full week on a trip overseas, mainly used underwater while snorkeling.
It works well and very good quality.
I read youtube reviews comparing against Hero 7 black and the 4K+ is just as good even though it's older. It's cheaper as well. I think I saved almost $200 compared to retail price for H7B.
Only downside is that the Yi4K+ needs a seperate waterproof case whereas H7B is already waterproof.
Xiaomi do a similar camera without the premium
