Scar/Crack Inside Freezer

Our upright freezer had one of the drawers slip next to the shelve support on one side and we tried everything from gently jiggling it from side to side to gently pulling it out, but it wouldn't budge. A more forceful pull finally got it out but it left a scar/crack that exposed the insulation. Is it rigid polyurethane foam and safe to leave as is?

Will the functionality of the freezer be pretty much the same with the scar/crack? Is it likely to get larger?

    • Appreciate your link; I had already read it before posting and was looking for anyone else who had experienced a similar situation.

Unless its got human flesh inside i’m not sure scar is the right word. Course if you do have a body in the freezer you might have bigger problems…

    • Poetic license?

  • Maybe put some duck tape on it to prevent any moisture passing through?
