      People don't like hearing the truth about their delusions such as Alexa is respecting their privacy and not listening to them. It makes them feel stupid.

      They're going to keep pretending that it's not listening all the time even though Google holds a patent for a device that listens all the time.

        Maybe because the comment is off topic? The smart sockets do not have microphones, you do not have to use them with Alexa or Google. Also, if you are panicking about Alexa or Google, then I hope that you do know that Smart tvs(Samsung, Android tvs) tv boxes and mobile phones work exactly the same way!
