  • Offer ends midnight the 25th April 2019 (AEST).

  • Does anyone know what the difference between all of the easyvision lenses are? Like the cheap $20 ones vs the $39 ones what more do I get?

    • You can go instore and they'll give you a free trial but for me personally the difference is how "thick" they feel on your eye. My eyes aren't that sensitive and I only wear daily disposables (sports and going out) so I use the cheap ones.

Essentially the difference is in the quality.

Generally more expensive lenses are made of a silicone hydrogel material which literally allows the eyes to breathe more and is therefore less likely cause complications in the future through hypoxia. They are also arguably more comfortable to wear.

The market is heading towards the use of silicone hydrogels and older lenses (hydrogels) are slowly being phased out.

There are different generations of silicone hydrogels (1st generation - > 4th gen) and the newer ones are again better for the physiology of the eye compared to previous years. An analogy would be, say having an iPhone 7 compared to iPhone 10.

In any case, if you haven't been fit for contact lenses by an optometrist/ophthalmologist I strongly suggest you see someone first before purchasing lenses online. Each lens fits differently, and switching from one brand to another is not always straight forward.
They are a medical device and infections can occur if used improperly.

      • Thanks mate. I went in store to Specsavers and the optometrist sold me the midrange ones (the easyvision Umere). All of the numbers were the same on the cheapest ones so I got them and they were fine. I just figured there must be something too it. Do the cheapest ones have sunlight protection as well?

        • +1

Umere is a fine lens to use (it's actually the same as clariti 1day by coopervision just repackaged by specsavers)

If that's what your optometrist has prescribed that's what I'll be recommending you should use!

To answer your question, not all lenses feature uv blocking. You'd need to look at their individual specifications to find out.

Are dailies total 1 the best on the market to date for daily disposables? Where can I buy to get a good price? What should I be paying?

        • +2

Dailies total 1 is probably the most advanced lens available at the moment.
There was insane amount of research that went into them (from memory, something like 10+ years)

Great for those who have severe dry eyes and can't tolerate other lenses. They arent my first choice lens just because of how expensive they are. I think a reasonable amount is $50 per box. Good luck.

          • @lewl: Thanks lawl, wat else wld u recommend? I pay about 400 for 6mntha supply not sure how many boxes is tat a good price?

Thanks OP, replenished my regular lenses. Great timing as I was running low.

  • My contact order always comes to $198 T_T

    • mine was 195, i feel you :(

      • 195 for me too:(

  • Why don't they have Dailies Total 1? Any other better option?

  • +1

Was going to use this but got a better deal from a competitor, 25% off & free shipping without the high minimum spend. Also wanted to try the newer Acuvue Oasys Hydraluxe which Specsavers didn't seem to have listed, went with a set of each (the older Moist version i'm used to) so I can compare them

    • +5

Could you please specify which competitor is that?

  • +2

    Dont forget cashback!

    • Ah crap! I forgot.

      Shame on me.

    • damn it.
