Looking for Cheapest NBN Provider

What is the cheapest NBN provider out there at the moment? Spintel is $44.95 per month with 200GB data, but only 12Mbps speed.
Any referral credit deals etc.?

  • Belong, 12 month contract, $55 per month for unlimited data & 50/20 speeds (if you change your router settings to not use their DNS). I switched to them from TPG for FTTN NBN and haven't looked back!

    • That plan is $65 on their website at the moment, which is more expensive than Exetel's nbn50 plan. Where did you see that plan for $55?

      • +2

The $55 plan will get you 30mbps speeds however like I mentioned, I get 45/18 speeds even during peak times due to not using their DNS.

    • Are you on FTTN ?

  • Thanks mate, fact sheet says 30Mbps download speed on Starter Plan. Are the DNS slowing it down? Did you change to Google DNS?

    • Yes, I have NBN FTTN with Belong and for me they slow it down by DNS. Hence I changed to other DNS and get around 45/18 speeds (I'm about 600m away from the node).

      • Not sure if its worth taking the risk, as they could get onto the DNS issue at any time…

  • +1

I would love to know where the cheap unlimited NBN100 plans are. Anything out there cheaper than tangerine?

    • Any issues with Tangerine?

      • I was with them for 3 months (wireless NBN 50/20), speed was ok but AussieBB are faster. My main gripe with them was they charge an extra fee for paying by any means except direct debit from a bank account, an extra fee for credit card is annoying but not that unusual but they charge a fee for EFT payments too. So I left.

  • My first YEAR w/ MyRepublic:

    Unlimited
    100 Mb/Sec (NBN100?)

    was priced at AU$ 60 / mon.

    $1 for modem
    $0 to install / setup

& that was in Outback SA!

    Now, NBN50 costs $10 more
    (but you MUST pay for
    unlimited Calls our to
    Au Landlines; which we
    do Not make)

    Of course, you pay extra,
    for NBN100, but only as
    you need it

At least you can get NBN100
    as/when needed, mon. by mon.
(ie, when you no longer need
that speed, you can drop it
to NBN50 & its lower price.
