Cheap Light and Compact Laptop

Hi can anyone recommend the cheapest lightweight laptop that can be used for basic Microsoft office suite files, internet searches and email.

After discovering refurbished laptops on eBay, I will never buy new again.

Search for refurbished Lenovo X1 Carbon on eBay, you can get i5 8Gb RAM, 128 SSD for around $400, or i7 for $600.

If you have friends dropping by US, you can even get them for around $200 USD.

Personally, I will never buy new again.

  For those light tasks, the used X1 Carbons on ebay are fantastic value. Just be aware that battery life won't be great as they're a few years old. They are replaceable though.

any chromebook can do this if you are not dead set on using microsoft suite only stuff (google has everything microsoft has)

they go for around the $250-350 AUD range depending on what aesthetics and extra processing power you want but don't expect anything much more than basic email, browsing and google suite stuff.
