What's The Cheapest Way to Access Optus Perks

Need help ascertaining the absolute cheapest way to access Optus Perks primarily for cheap Hoyts tickets. I'm currently with another provider mid contract, so can't change.
Thanks for your help.

Find someone who has Optus and get their login or get them to buy things for you.

Pretty sure OP meant to get a service or something which was as cheap as possible to get Optus Perks for themselves.

      • Yep, want it for myself so I don't have to keep hassling people here 😁

        • Gotcha, I'm looking for the same thing. Don't want to switch to Optus just for the perks, but wouldn't mind getting something cheap that gives me access :)

  • Also curious!

Here the best way I think:

Have a spare phone numbers for Optus, e.g. pay $9 for a $30 prepaid starter pack and activate it on 186 days plan. After 186 days, Optus will allow your numbers active for another 6 months before it gets cut off. So you have one-year Optus perks for $9. (Of course you can port out for a few days and come back with a new starter pack.) You can also use the phone numbers for some dummy accounts with Heyyou, Uber eats etc. to offset the cost.

    • How does this work? Where can I get a $9 starter pack from? Also, wouldn't they cut off my Perks access once my service is no longer active, because Perks is tied to account, not just having an active Optus number?

$30 Starter pack is constantly on sale for $9/$10 in Woolies/Coles. Optus perks does not cut off immediately after port out, either. I am sure about the timeframe, though. So long as the numbers is active with Optus, you have the access. It does not matter with zero credits.

    • Thanks neoika, I'll have to keep an eye out for sim deals i guess. I was sort of hoping a $2 sim would do it but obviously not

  • I dunno, but I can get perks for you (or anyone) if you want.
Tickets are $14 instead of $19, FYI.

    • Aren't they $12.50 with perks though?

      • Booking fee.
People say there's a way around it, but I don't think so.

        • Yes I forgot about the fee

  • Optus perks are all very good but since porting from Vodafone to Optus I have found thier network coverage very third rate - well behind Vodafone.
