GeekBuying Vs GearBest Which One Is More Reliable?

I am planning to buy OnePlus 6T or Xiaomi MI 9 from either of these websites. How reliable are these websites. What about warranty, do I have to pay import tax in Australia?

      Untrue.

      • Technically he's correct, no "Import Duty" fee. However, all online purchases from overseas are now subject to GST.

        So, practically, he's wrong.

I've had no issues with GeekBuying, but had some issues with GearBest. Thing is GearBest have given me partial refund, but it was a pain/hassle. However, I still was somewhat successful, but I'm not sure if GeekBuying would've been as good in such situations.

So from my experience, I'd say they're quite equal, especially when it comes to (no)warranty. So go for whichever is able to post quicker, or cheaper. Otherwise GeekBuying would be my pick.

      • Under the new legislation for orders below the value of $1000 AU, the overseas stores are supposed to collect GST from you at the time of purchase and later pay it to the ATO. It's not a customs enforced tax and they won't check if GST has been paid nor do they have the ability to do so.

If the store doesn't charge you GST then you've got yourself some GST free goods. Currently GeekBuying do not charge customers GST.

  • As others have said I'm affiliated with GeekBuying and I'm always more than happy to help resolve any issues. Given that a lot of products now have heavily discounted/free express postage, orders arrive a lot quicker than they used to.

Which ones specifically were you looking at? I'm happy to try and get a good price from Geek.

  • I've personally seen more posts bashing Gearbest than GeekBuying.

But I personally think Gearbest has a larger market share and volume sale compared to Geekbuying (just my guess).

  • I've bought from many of these marketplaces, including these two. Banggood and Gearbest are the biggest ones at the moment, definitely bigger compared with Geekbuying, and I found that Geekbuying often is more expensive as well. But - it depends on the product you're buying. I would personally be happy to recommend all three, as long as you pay via paypal.
