National Policy Check Providers - Cheapest & Safest?

I personally have to get a police check to work for a company that counts votes and it's not the employer who pays.

What is the cheapest place (but secure) place to get it? All prices below include GST.

My employment agency referred me to
* CVCheck for $49.90

However I googled and found some others:
* Clear to Work - $41.50
* Certsy - a Seek affiliated company - $49.50

There's also a whole list of different companies on the government website.

Any advice or vote for the one I should use below?

UPDATE

In the end I chose Certsy as they already had some of my ID documents due to a previous right of work check.

  • Whatever the cheapest Accredited body is

    Flap me - why you need to go through a profit driven 3rd party to obtain something that should be available for a small fee from a Government body Pathetic

    These organisations are entrusted with direct access to the National Police Checking Service (

    • why you need to go through a profit driven 3rd party to obtain something that should be available for a small fee

      The Laberal Parties privatise everything they can to extract the highest amount of money possible from the population while they keep saying "Yes please, sir, can I lose some more" by voting for them next time.

    As both 'Clear to Work' and 'CV Check' are on the ACIC site, just go with one of those. It is only a couple of dollars difference.

  • Do some require selfies or photos of ids versus others that just require the id number to verify electronically?

    • Yep. I had to do one recently which required me to take a selfie. I took one outdoor hoping for better lighting , uploaded it and then notice there was a possum on the tree right behind me. So yeah, photobombed by a possum on my fit2work application. They still gave me the highest level (gold badge?).

    The services are all identical. The individual supplier's information security measures are unknowable.
    CVCheck are listed on the ASX, so at least you have the names of the directors/managers if they get hacked.
    I used Cleartowork to do an RSA, they seemed somewhat capable, but I got the vibe their support desk/back office was in the Philippines, if that is a concern. Certsy seem both costly and new kid on the block (albeit with Seek backing, as you noted).
    shrug

      … and that's going to help how?

      • Bikies, or lawsuits, or just a grudge.

  • Just go for the cheapest one from the Government website since they're all supposedly endorsed/ accredited

    • Thanks but I"m not eliible under any of the requirements.

  • In the end I chose Certsy as they already had some of my ID documents due to right of work check.

  • The safest is from https://auspost.com.au/police-checks you can submit your documents online and if all goes well, you can be certified within an hour.
