Buying a new Car Battery

Any suggestions where to get a great deal on a new car battery? The recent cold nights seem to have finished mine off. Has been coughing every morning this week!

I though Big W or Kmart sold them, but nothings showing on their website. Supercheap Auto & Repco have no prices on their website. NRMA will deliver & install a new battery for $99 for members according to their site.

Any brands that are particularly good, or other good deals?

  • Supercheap have 10% off at the moment and Repco has $10 for trading in your old battery.

  • I personally buy based on warranty length and value regardless of brand.

  • Just a quick bump. Is anyone aware of sales or a good deal at the moment. Cheers in advance!

  • I got a Century for a good price a while back from Bob Janes. Find the type code of the battery you need and jump on the phone, that's what I did.
Beware of cheap no name batteries if you intend keeping the car for a while because they are no bargain at any price.

  • I was actually impressed by the RACV price I could get for the battery quality and capacity, the NRMA option may be your best.

  • Are you in Sydney? Location?

  • I'm shopping for one at the moment. Super Cheap does have prices on their website. I discovered that Repco offer 10% purchases for auto club members, such as RACQ.
RACQ have them, $20 dearer than similar/same Century brand from Super Cheap.

NRMA don't offer a battery for my car, they've only got Mitsubishi Magna batteries for 1985-1992 models. Similar with other car makes, only for really old cars. Seems odd.

My half sister told me she bought her car battery from BCF, because she works there and has a discount, but i looked on the website and could only find a few marine batteries. :?
