Qantas Wine $50 off When You Spend $150

820
MYWINE42019

I received a brochure in the mail with what seems to be a generic code. Also played around briefly on the site and it appears you can "login to checkout" or "checkout as a guest". Assume you can use this code as many times as you wish until expiry, but there are T&Cs stating Qantas Wine reserves the right to cancel any order which breaches such conditions (see more details below).

I enjoy a glass of wine occasionally but don't know enough to know what's a good deal but have noticed that Qantas Wine codes are purchased and sold regularly via the Classified Forum. I hope this is useful for some.

Excuse the low quality photo but it's late and I wanted to share this before I fly out to Tasmania for a mini break :)

From the brochure:

$50 off when you spend $150

Redeem at qantas.com/wine before 30 Junes 2019.
Then enter your code MYWINE42019 in the promotion
code field when you checkout.
Or, call our wine advisors on 1800 505 004

Promo code is valid for one order per member, is not transferable and is valid until 11:59:59 PM 30 June 2019. Qantas Wine reserves the right to cancel any order which breaches such conditions. $150 min spend excludes Champagne & sparkling wine, food, spirits, beer, cider and Penfolds. Frequent Flyer members can earn 1 point per $1 spent. Qantas Wine Premium Members earn 3 Qantas Points per $ spent (membership fee may apply).

I didn't read the fine print and first thing I went and did was add 3 cases of the Panhead XPA :P

They have the Tolpuddle Chardonnay in stock which is bloody hard to find, grabbed a bottle of that and filled it out with a couple of others, came out as a bit of a bargain. Just had to hunt through the wines that would let you buy by the bottle (I wanted the Leeuwin Art Series chard, but it only comes in 12 packs, at $100 a bottle)

    Standard delivery
    Metro: $7.00
    Regional: $12.00
    Country: $19.00

Getting a case of Taylors Heritage Collection Cab Sav 2016 $106 after discount, thanks op. That case gets 5000 bonus points so a little bit extra off!

    • Seems like a good deal, $113 delivered (metro) for a case of 6. 5,000 points is worth at least $50 to me so would be a nice extra! Unfortunately, they don’t deliver to 2010. Weird. Didn’t realise I was living in a dodgy part of town!

Do they use AusPost? If so, get them to deliever to a parcel locker in a postcode they'd deliver to

Damn best deal by far! I had this in my cart, browsed a bit and it was sold out!
Ended up getting the Shiraz Cabernet And Grenache Mixed Dozen for $220 with 8000 bonus points which isn't quite as good, but get to try a nice range at least
Edit: Everything was coming up as free delivery for me though, not sure why

  • Can anyone recommend a good Shiraz under $25? I like the Taylors Shiraz but they don’t seem to stock it.

If you go South Australia near Adelaide (McLaren Vale, Adelaide Hills and Clare Valley) between 2012-2016 you should be safe. 2010 was a stellar year, 2018 was also good but a bit young right now. Look forward to some amazing 2019 Shiraz and Cab Savs from the region, was down there in Feb and they were very excited about this year's vintage.

      • Just came back from this years Barossa vintage festival. Word from the winemakers is this year's Barossa vintage is not so good

        • Interesting. Maybe the guys I talked to were being too positive.

The heat was so high, they were all scrambling to pull the grapes off the vines before they over ripened (end of Feb). I got told that as long as they got the grapes at the right time, the high heat and decent water they got end of 2018 meant they had good grapes.

Nice one… just ordered a dozen Shaw + Smith Sav Blanc - great deal at $50 off and 5,000 bonus points!

If Woodlands Cabernet Merlot 2017, you will get 10k points per case at the same price.

Thanks for the code OP. There are good deals here no doubt about that.

But just a word of caution to make sure you do your research and remember to check your prices at some other stores. Some of the wines are similar price to other retailers and therefore if you get close to the $150 mark to get a high % discount, it's a good deal. But you also need to factor in the fact most can only be bought in case of 6 or 12, and $7 delivery isn't included in the spend and many prices are inflated to the order of 20-25%.

    eg here's a non-deal
    Yabby Lake Single Vineyard Chardonnay
    Qantas $294.00 per case of 6 - $50 deal + $7 delivery = $251 = $41.83/bottle
    Dan Murphy's $239.40 per case of 6 + click and collect = $39.90/bottle

I got some Tolpuddle Chardonnay which as a poster above has said is quite hard to acquire and seems a relatively uninflated price.
Qantas $70, Langton's $70, cellar door $73, Dan Murphy's prev $68 when they do sell but not available currently

So I went looking for well-reviewed wines at $150 per case, where Qantas pricing was on par with Dan Murphy's.

I ordered Lobethal Road Tempranillo-Graciano 2015. Dan's has the 2017 at $24.95. The 2015 seems sold out everywhere but Qantas, and rates 4.5 on Vivino (from just 3 reviews, but average 3.8 across all vintages). Seemed a good buy at $100 for 6.

    Thanks OP, great deal.

Got the last 4 bottles of the Grosset Chardonnay for an absolute steal using the code across 2 separate transactions along with 2 other brilliant Chardonnays.

Voyager 3 Vintages Of Cabernet Merlot is a good deal as well stacking up discounts nicely:
    - Discounted at $60 from $70 per bottle
    - Combined with this $50 voucher code
    - Add another $15,000 QFF bonus points, valued at $75-$150
    - Just meets the free shipping criteria

This bottle sells for $67-71 a bottle at reputable bottle shops. If you take into account all the above incl. the value of the Qantas points this makes it 26.5-$39 a bottle delivered. Even without factoring in the QFF points at $51.5 per bottle delivered this is a good deal.

  • Tried using this again, got the message "Promotional code already redeemed. Please check your details and try again." :(

    • Have you tried checking out as a guest? Or as someone mentioned above, using a parcel locker?
