Need Advice: Which Huion Graphics Monitor Would You Recommend?

I'm tossing up which graphics monitor (tablet) to get for my daughter's 20th. I'm not flush with cash, so Cintiq is out. I heard my daughter talking to a friend saying she loved the big screen she uses to draw at uni. She does have a Yoga 460, and draws on it, but it's laggy & really more there to take notes, not draw. That laptop is 14".
I'm wondering if she would be better served with the GT-156HD V2 15.6 Inch Drawing Monitor with Two Digital Pens, or the KAMVAS GT-191, 19.5".

Trying to decipher the two (Hurion vs. HURION) companies listed on Amazon.com.au. Also difficult to figure out the exact versions on offer unless it's stated somewhere in the the page data. I wish Amazon would provide a uniform "at a glance"— the basics, in all the same layout, for each item.

So, are there any OzB'rs out there who have experience with the Hurion monitors?

Thanks all!

  • No one has one of these?

Are there any others (besides the $$$$ Wacom Cintiq's?) you'd recommend or have used?

    Thank you

  • I have a xp-pen 21hd and I bought from aliexpress during one of the 10% cashback specials. I've been really happy with it and had no issues. I was initially looking at a huion but after reading a bunch of reviews decided to go with the xp pen.

Before I had that I used a huion drawing tablet (no screen) and found that to be good value. The feel of the drawing surface is obviously not as nice as a wacom, but for the price I was happy with it.

    • Thanks for your reply. It's helpful.

I looked at the XP line first, and unlike your assessment, I'm finding more (at least on Youtube) artists saying they thought Hurion was a better build.

I just hoped there would be more people at OZB who'd have more recent feedback.

      • Fair enough. It was a few years ago that I bought mine, and everything I read at the time said xp pen so I went with it. I haven't had any complaints from it but haven't tried a huion display tab

    • How is the xp-pen 21hd now?

  • *Follow-up: we bought the Huion KAMVAS GT-191 V2 & it's been marvelous. The colours are slightly off compared to the monitor (probably could be adjusted, but my daughter didn't mind as she knew the outcome colours would be fine).

    ;)

    • I just haven't been game enough to get cheaper tablets because they are inferior to Wacoms. There was a time I would try a lot of display tablets. I'm at the point where I'll wait until technology is better and cheaper. However I've used ipads that work quite well. (Sure, not the a similar device)

Eventually I would like a larger screen tablet for more detailed work but it takes a lot of real estate. Unless you were productive it just gathers dust.

    • How is the Huion KAMVAS GT-191 V2 after 2 years?
