Cheap Digital Door Locks

Hi all,

Does anybody have recommendations for a cheap digital door lock? Looking to put one on our external laundry door so needs to be weather resistant.

Bunnings have a $60~ one that might work, but keen to hear if anyone else might have any other recommendations.

Which digital do you mean?…. That is the question?

(hint, one is just digital numbers that are pressed while one is electronic)

    • Cheaper option in this case is probably just digital numbers

Well it is ozbargain……. So you never know :)

  • Op just got me looking for "fingerprint door lock" on AliExpress, I wonder how good they are? I mean wee all know Xiaomi, Ozbargains favourite brand, when they entered the market they really blew the competition open.

  • Did you mean “digital” or “electronic”?

    • Digital. Assuming that’s cheaper…

      • +1

Digital refers to the fact that it requires numbers input to gain entry rather than a key, fob or remote.

If it is for a rear/laundry door, I would get something like the Lockwood 530 DX. It is reliable, easy to use and doesn't require batteries and it will last a lifetime on a domestic application. Downside is the price. (About $220+)

If you wanted something cheaper, go for the Ikonic Digital Entry Set. It should replace your existing hardware and is not to bad for the price. It's no Lockwood, but then again, it's no where near the price. Should be fine for an occasional door.

For a door on the back of a house, I don't usually recommend electronic door locks. It's a lot more expensive and over engineered for what it is going to do, that is, seldom use. Stick with a mechanical type lock for doors that get infrequent use.

        • Thanks mate, that’s great info! :)
