    …you sure youre awake…?

Arcosteel Stonehenge Wok With Lid 30cm each
    $ 45 00

    • What is the problem? It shows $10.

      • At your Woolies location?
        Must be a NSW deal.

    • +3

It shows $10 but once I log in it changes to $45, must be for selected stores only.

  • +1

    $45 for me

  • +1

Still full price at my local shop

May be a State based Deal?
OP & Belsorp see $10 in NSW
Click through based on OPs store: $10
Change location to my local stores in in QLD: $45

  • SA stores showing $45..

  • OP: what store is this $10?

    • +1

My local store is Marrickville Metro (NSW).

      • Mine is too! But weirdly it's showing $45

      • Changed location to your store. Confirmed $10 at that store.

        Maybe a NSW Deal.

Sydney locations I tried had no stock available to check if this was a NSW price.

Try other locations to find stock near you if shows not available.

        • I believe it's $10 at Marrickville Metro only, not even at Marrickville main store and other Sydney stores I've checked.

          • @O O: Maybe a Metro offer?
Unfortunately stores I tried had no stock.

      • When not logged in, weird thing is my browser always defaults to this store even it is not my local store.

Is the 3-layer non-stick coating just Teflon x3? There's not much information about what we could be potentially digesting when the surface starts to inevitably wear out…

    • +1

just get a carbon work if you know how to season it

i've read that no harm ingesting teflon as it doesn't breakdown and body won't absorbs it, only goes to toilet.

teflon is harmful creating noxious gas when you overheat it aka cook in high heat , i think even stirfry goes over 200deg

  • The page just died!

      Woks for me😀

  • +3

The first rule of Wok Club - Never buy a Teflon wok.

    • and what's with the lid?

      • Can use as a steamer. A bit of water at the bottom, low heat, steam bamboo tray), lid to keep steam in

Bought the Acrosteel Stonehenge 26cm pan with glass lid for $10 in Deal a few months back - very happy with it.

But use a basic 30cm carbon steel wok - $2 on clearance nearly 2 years back from Target. Teflon & high heat used with woks aren't a good combination.

    • +4

Absolutely what Infidel says - don't bother with non-stick if you intend to do wok cooking. The whole point of a wok is high heat, which destroys teflon quite quickly.

If you want to do wok cooking, buy a Carbon steel wok. Seasoning/maintaining a wok isn't hard to do and it will take anything you throw at it, including high-heat deep frying.

    • Only issue with Stonehenge coating on is it scratched easily. Instructions warn not to use metal utensils - but I must have (once) as there is a shiny metal scratch.

  • +2

Just avoid using non stick coated cookware. Food tastes better when made in steel pots and pans.

  • +2

This is likely only available at METRO stores. Not $10 at other NSW Woolies I searched.

  • +2

    Arcosteel not Acrosteel.

  • Fyi this is available again but this time it's $18 and at the Doncaster East store in Victoria.

    2 left after I took 1.
