Witnessed Hit and Run

I witnessed a hit and run involving a parked car.
I have the details of the car that hit the other one but don’t know the details of the owner of the parked car.

Is there a way to find out the details of the owner of the parked car?

Write it and put in on the windscreen of the parked car.

Make sure you write it in a way that the person who hit the car cannot come back and erase it.

        Carve it in.

  • Leave a note in the car that was hit .

Could you report to Police and let them deal with it? Isn't it illegal to hit and run?

It is in WA. Leaving the scene of an accident is the name of the offense.

Police are unlikely to do anything.

Leave a note with your name and phone number and if they contact you, go to the cop shop and do a stat dec.

      • Perhaps. More likely if there was dashcam footage I suppose.

You could also post to social networking sites, like Facebook (on a local community page) with details

LH mentions that you might be contacted by their insurance company (or companies) to provide some kind of statement on what happened.
