DeLonghi LA SPECIALISTA Coffee Machine

Hey

I’m looking at purchasing this coffee machine but unable to test it anywhere.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

I liked the smart tamper and the grinder included. We have been using a lattisma Nespresso but using the pods a bit meh, it doesn’t taste like a real coffee. However I do like the ease of use and potentially could look at the creatista version that had a milk wand.

We mainly would use on the weekend so a max of 10 coffees a week.

Find a stockist, I think david jones carries it, so might have it on display at least.

    • Nice discount too! OP needs to go for a wander and check out david jones/myer/harvey norman/the good guys who all stock it and see whats on display and if any are willing to demo.

My local harvey norman has a massive coffee machine display and always willing to demo a machine if you hang around longer than 30 seconds looking at one.

      • I tried and was told they don’t demo that machine :(

        • Darn…. Well its a buy it and see I guess!

          Please post a review.

  • It's a jack of all trades so…

I was in your position a few years ago. Decided to go separate machines/grinder. Grinder is very important and you should generally invest more in the grinder if you're on a budget.

This DeLonghi doesn't have adjustable grind so that's where your coffee will really let it down.

    • I’m confused - because the review below says the grind is adjustable?

Maybe I need to read some more on getting a machine or stick to a pod Nespresso

Yes it does, you can see the ring around the bottom of the grinder.

    • Thanks for the review link :)

If you can't adjust the grind you're gonna have a bad time.
