Recommendation for 27" Monitor IPS or VA

Hi All,

i'm currently looking for a new monitor for everyday use at home. Been considering on getting the Kogan 27" Curved QHD 144Hz FreeSync Gaming Monitor thats at $379 right now, but have read about a lot of people saying its so much more worth getting IPS now. I do game quite often but am not a hardcore gamer so 144hz is not a massive issue for me.

Currently thinking of getting a 27" 2k IPS monitor if possible and have found some cheaper options on the market

Haven't seen anyone talk about the Kogan 27" QHD IPS 75Hz LED Monitor for $349. There is also the option for ViewSonic VA2719-2K-SMHD which goes for $300 as well. Does anyone have these monitors that they use? If so how are they?

    I'm currently using the Kogan Monitor(144hz curved 4K) and its fantastic so far. The only minor issue is that there is a small black-light bleed when the screen is completely black but its not noticeable at all when the monitor is in use. The 144hz at that price is a nice bonus as well. Not too sure on IPS vs VA part though as i dont really notice the difference. If you have any questions on the Kogan monitor feel free to ask.

      thinking of getting the Kogan 27" QHD IPS 75Hz but haven't seen any ozbargainers here talk about it at all. for an IPS Monitor and 2560x1440p i think $350 isn't too bad?

        Its not bad for the price but i have no preference on IPS/VA monitors. Personally id rather go for the 144hz for that extra price of money (literally just $20). It is to note that the 75hz uses BOE's panel while the 144hz uses Samsung's panel. Though the 75hz panel is slightly brighter and is more vibrant in colours based on specifications. The curved screen is also nicely subtle.

    I purchased this https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/301855 2 years ago and I recently sold it because of the input lag. Felt like it was 60ms or something ridiculous.

    Kogan may have improved the input lag since then but I wouldn't purchase it until someone measures it and reports it. fwiw, my work place has 24" Kogan IPS monitors and the input lag there isn't particularly noticeable.

    Does anyone have the comments on the AOC 27V2Q/75 75Hz FHD IPS DP FreeSync Monitor ? It seems to have good ratings and comments in general.

    I am looking to use it for work and some movies only (probably occasional gaming. Nothing too intensive)
