Amaysim Electricity - Bill Anomaly

So I am a gambler and signed up for Amaysim electricity late last year on a 32% discount (supply and usage) deal offered to Amaysim mobile phone customers. I've been watching the bills carefully to make sure that the discounts flow through.

All has been well until the current quarter end bill. Amaysim stated the wrong on-line reward to be credited to the next bill for paying on time ($0.00 instead of $11.31).

A quick call (no waiting) to Amaysim fixed the anomaly, but I wondered if I would have noticed if I wasn't monitoring the bills closely….and how many other accounts might be in a similar situation. If you are with them, check that the online reward on the quarter end bill is 32% of the sub-total (before adjustments) in the details section.

The Amaysim plan is working out to be 13% cheaper than the AGL plan I was on before switching (without taking the joining up sweetener into account). I've moved on from their mobile plan but am happy to take their energy deal!

    These guys have a really whacky way of billing, especially when it comes to the sign-up bonus credit. I left them after they raised their rates for me by around 30% just under a year after joining.

      I was also attracted by their sign up discount and they increased their rate more than 30% after 1st year. They were hoping that the consumer will not check their bills.

    Worst. Electricity. Company. Ever.

    They should stick to mobile phone service.

    These peanuts signed me up with a "pay on time discount" only to tell me after the fact that it would be credited to my next bill. I explained to them the wording of the contract that it was a "discount" not a "credit". Their billing cycles I was told was every 90 days, when it worked out it was 60 days. They only did one meter read a year and the rest were "best guess".

    Never again. And I strongly advise everyone else who is thinking of using them, just don't. Read their fine print and read their prices. I was given a huge solar feed in tarrif only to be slugged double the going rate of other suppliers for off peak, totally negating any benefit of the FIT.

      Agree. Run to the hills. Leave Amaysim now. The most inept and misleading energy company I have ever used.
