Just found out that COTD is being bankrolled by Packer…
    http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2011/05/23/3224438.htm

Perhaps they should call it the Packer Pen…

    • The info is also linked from COTD front page (Thats why they are having the hourly sale thingy)

      http://www.catchoftheday.com.au/news.php?article=541

    • What does bankrolled mean? Serious question.

        • I tried that and I can't understand any of that.

          Layman's terms please?

        • Basically it means they will be financially supporting COTD.
It will be run by a board of directors, so the 2 brothers that owned it will still partly be in charge of running it.

    • Would have been better (for us) if he started his own company (to add to the competition) rather than controlling yet another company and taking much of the profits as usual.

  • It's one of those hourly deals days, so it will no longer be available at 4pm.

Shipping is $4.95. That needs to be in the title/description.

Man I could buy a whole lot of plastic biros for $14.90. Not that I'd use more than one or two a year, I don't do much writing these days, mostly typing.

Still, if the glitter of this is what you want…

Better still, I'll grab a defunct silver Pentel pen and put that in my pocket and nobody will know the difference as long as they don't borrow my pen. LOL

    • Or 132 2B pencils..

don't buy this…. when u get it, u will b disappointed at the pen

    • Why?

Because when you click on the link, all you get is a Baby Monitor… :O

        • Correction, snuggie now.

Parker are the poor man's luxury pen.
It's like saying you got a sports car but it turns out you bought a mx5.

    • +3

Actually, the Mazda MX-5 is highly regarded for its handling and looks. It's the highest selling convertible in the world and its basic classic shape hasn't changed much in over 20 years.

Now, if you mentioned something like the Daihatsu Copen instead, you'd be on the right track :-)

I don't like these silver Parker pens. If you're not careful, the silver paint flakes off. You would also have to be careful with some of their chrome plated pens, as that too somehow seems to fade off with excess usage, and you're left with this bronze/copper colour. Obviously I haven't researched what my pens are made of, but they should at least be able to last long in aesthetics imo, given their higher cost.

    • I know one asian guy who called his Mazda 6 an M6.

      lol.

I feel COTD have some fatal flaws for keeping customers aways.
After being a customer for over 1 year, I decide not buy from them in the future because

    -COTD lacks of customer service
-I feel COTD was not honest.

    • Me too.
I bought a product & they sent me an older version of the same product. It took aaaaagges and aaaages to explain what had happened, which they kept trying to deny, until i found a google cached page of the page i purchased the item from… then they wanted me to pay for the return of the product that they stuffud up sending in the first place..
