Earth Choice All in One Dishwasher Tablets (42 Pack) $11.30 @ Woolworths

830

They were this price last week at Coles and now it is Woolworths' turn.

Highest rated dish-washing tablets by Choice.

I've used them myself and they're great, but rarely come on special. Even so, they're great value at full price for the amount of tablets that you're getting.

They're not tested on animals/are cruelty free.

Great product. But: How do you test dishwashing tabs on animals? Anyone put their cat or dog in the dishwasher?

    • Makes for a good kicking salt substitute.

    • +2

It may come down to either specific chemical components of a product that is tested on an unwilling animal or the manufacturer itself who tests other products on animals as policy.

Earth Choice strictly does not test any of its products on animals.

      • +13

But my dirty dishes have plenty of dead animal residues on them so I need product that actually works on them ie been thoroughly tested on animal.

Pretty sure no other brands test on animals so it's a bit of idiocy. You know, like pretending it's good for the environment.

      • Think it is to do with whether the chemicals react to the skin when in contact. That's why plenty of the tabs from other brands come in packaging that dissolves and shouldn't come in contact with skin (or do all warn against contact with skin?)

        • so they tested it on human then?

    • Good question. If I wanted to test dishwasher tablets I would get standardized soiled dishes and test my product. At what point would I use an animal? None. It's like claiming gluten free sugar or calorie free bottled water. It's completely meaningless.

Maybe the individual ingredients get tested on animals? Nope. If I wanted to know the environmental effects of a chemical I would look up the information. Let's face it. Earth Choice is not making novel compounds that have never been seen before and require testing.

I use the Ecostore tablets, which are plant/mineral based, animal testing free and have less chemicals. Can be expensive when not on special though.

Not tested on animals, just test on human, more likely the paying customers.
Are these animal activists cruel too? To human instead.

The humans get paid at least.

        And are consenting

  • I’m sure these tabs are a good product but did get a chuckle over their advertising as ‘Septic Safe - Low Sodium’. The first 5 (& 7th) ingredients by percentage are Sodium Carbonate, Sodium Citrate, Sodium Sulfate, Sodium Percarbonate, Sodium Bicarbonate & Sodium Silicate. Add some Tetrasodium Iminidisuccinate, Tetrasodium Etidronate & Sodium salt for good measure and I’m sure your Septic system will have high blood pressure after these!

  • We use these, they work well. Colesworth has them on special reasonably regularly. Worth buying a couple of boxes on special.

  • +2

They’re often on special but not always this cheap.

  • Have been using these for a little while now, I can't really tell the difference between these and the Powerball Quantum Ultimates, wouldn't say better or worse.

    • is it better price wise?

      • Well these are 27c a tablet at this price, it's not often you can get the Quantum Ultimates for that price. At the same price I would choose these.

  • +3

26.90 cents per tab for anyone who was wondering.

  • Compared to the Aldi good ones?

  • How do these compare to Coles Ultra dishwashing tabs?

    • never tried this but according to choice.com.au, Aldi & Coles are the top two product with good result.
interestingly the powerball quantum is near the bottom of the chart.

  • Is this 100% gluten free as well as not tested on animals? ;)

Btw has anyone compared these to coles ultra? I reckon Coles ultra is pretty good. $6 per 30.

Will try this one as well.

  • 27c per tab. I will stick to Coles ultra.

  • Has anyone compared tgese tabs to just washing with water? ;)

    https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.news.com.au/lifestyle/home/…

    • Choice gave water only a 7% in their test.

Thanks OP. I tend to buy 2-3 of these when they go on special and literally down to the last 2 now - so perfect timing.

Also - can stack with existing everyday rewards challenges - I have one to spend $50 (x2) to get 3500 points - which is worth about $15 or so.. so buying a few packets of these makes it trivial to meet the challenge..

  • I use Ecostore powder which at $9 a bottle gets me around 30 washes at 30 cents a wash. These tablets are just under 27 cents a wash so definite bargain.

  • Getting some to see if they're any good.

  • I'm surprised they're rated well. All their other products are rubbish
