QFF Credit Card Deals

Hi

If I sign up for a QFF bonus point deal with a bank for a particular credit card, and spend up the minimum spend within the first 90 days, get the points - am I allowed to wait till the end of the year, cancel my credit card, sign up for a new one with a different bank offering a similar bonus points deal for QFF?

Does Virgin Velocity allow this as well?

you don't need to wait till the end of the year.. once the points have been received just cancel the card and move on to the next one

  • Yes, many people do this. I would only stick to 2-3 cards a year or your credit rating will go down rather than up.

Hit 4-5 a year last 2 years in a row and it is currently higher than I started.

        I'm with you there brother.
Across two and a half years, 12 card applications, score is higher now than when I started. It hardly moves.
I can't believe they keep on giving them to you. Sit out the 12 months and then reapply.

      • Fair enough, there was a post in the past few days where someone was saying there's went down and i believe they had that amount. Who knows!

      • Do you cancel existing card first then apply? Or apply first then cancel existing card

        • Cancel and then apply. Have a rotation so we're never left without cards.

    • I'm on my 3rd card this year totalling 240k points. Amex 100k points and ANZ 100k points next

  • Nice! Thanks for the tips.

Do you guys prefer QFF or Velocity?

  • Tagalong question - anyone know of a decent sign up bonus (closer to 100k) for a Qantas card that is not Amex or ANZ with a $0/low annual fee? Trying to earn as many points as I can but the good deals seem to have annual fees and I'm not overly familiar with Qantas deals that may be around the corner…
