Hyundai i30 Prices

Hi I am looking to buy a Hyundai i30 auto and I was wondering if anyone could share any recent prices of what they have paid please? I saw a 2018 auto demo Hyundai i30 go for $20,000 with 60km is that a good price? I am also interested in the Smartsense pack as well if anyone managed to buy theirs for a good price?

The dealer said I can't put Smartsense pack on the demo go only a new car, so I was wondering what prices people have paid for a Hyundai i30 with/without Smartsense and how you have found having the Smartsense and whether it is worth paying extra for it.

Thank you

Not a good price. A non demo i30 go is usually on promotion for $20k, and that is advertised price. Get the Kia Cerato. Much more value packed and very similar to the i30

Very similar because Hyundai own (or majority own?) Kia. Like the Elantra 2.0L and Cerato 2.0L are the same engine.

      • Exactly

        • When I was looking at a new car last year, I was tossing up between a Cerato and Elantra, I liked the Cerato exterior better, but the Elantra interior.

Ended up going the Elantra because I got an Elite for the cost of an Active.

  • Smart sense is fitted at the factory, not an "add on" like bonnet protector and floor mats.

What's your budget? You may be best looking for a 19MY, 2018 plated car. These are usually what the low km demo cars are. And $20k for a demo base without smart sense is not really a good deal considering that a base i30 is $20,990. I would start at $18k offer and be ready to sign.

I have a new Corolla that has most of the things in the Hyundai "sense pack" and there is no way I would pay $7,000 for it. Lane keep assist and adaptive cruise are nice, but the rest are not worth the premium price increase.

This would give you a range to work with… I used this Whirlpool thread to give me a good idea of what to play with… I got a demo Hyundai i30 SR premium with 6000km on the clock for 28k and 3 years free servicing. You may not be able to get alot of actual $$$ off the car but you could sneak in 3 years servicing which comes up to about $800ish.

I have gone through 2 different car brokers, spent days looking for different prices and getting into contact with different dealerships and that is the lowest I could find for an automatic. Do you mean when you have found the $20,990 it is for a manual or an automatic?

Where abouts have others found cheaper prices? Thanks

    • $20.990 is the base price for the manual, auto costs an extra $2k (I can remember a time when it was the other way around on cars, manuals cost more).

I've never bought anything in that price range so I'm not sure of the discount you should be able to get bit brokers are typically pretty good so if they can't find it you'll likely have a hard time. If colour isn't important then that will help. Try walking into one, tell them what you want for the price you want and you're ready to sign on the spot and see what happens. I would expect getting an auto at the manual price is possible with the right dealer, especially coming up to EOFY. Don't be afraid to walk out. You can always go to another dealer or through the broker.

  • If they're not willing to lower the price, try asking for extra add ons. cheapjunkie mentioned one about including servicing

  • I just bought a 2016 Hyundai ascent with 17,000 KMs for 10,200. Had all the aftermarket extras. These things run for ever.

In case anyone else is looking. I just bought a MY20 12/2019 built i30 Active with SmartSense in Iron Grey with front/rear mudguards as well as floor/cargo mat for $24,800.
It seems that SmartSense now includes the electronic handbrake although I didn't see that mentioned anywhere.

EDIT: Oh, and this was in Brisbane.

    • What was the original price?

      I am thinking for buying a i30:

Getting a 2019 auto active model with 20k kms for 18k.
Also getting a similar one to yours but a demo in $23800
New ones are $25500 i believe not sure how much can be bargained on this price.

Bit confused, which of the above 3 options should i go for, any suggestions ?
