Headsup, Major Firefox Stuff up

Just an FYI to maybe save some others some time and grief. I just had Firefox randomly decide that most of my addons were no longer compatible and has shut them all down. This is a world wide screwup from Mozilla. Anyway if anyone else HAS noticed it there are discussion here:

Sweet just changed my about:config value as described in the link and all my addons popped back up automatically. Cheers.

  • The last time this happened, I migrated to Waterfox. It seems to support a lot of older addons.

Migrating to the Firefox Unbranded build with the steps suggested on Reddit resolved the issue for me. I won't be going back to a non-dev build of Firefox again.

    Here's a temp fix https://blog.mozilla.org/addons/2019/05/04/update-regarding-…

(edit, this didn't fix the problem for me but others have reported mixed results . )

    • Thanks! That worked for me.

Using Opera while they fix Firefox, no big deal.

Switched to Brave Browser a couple of days ago because of this. Was very easy to transition over and have been loving it. Using Brave may also help OzBargain and all Chrome add-ons work fine with it.

Brendan Eich founded Mozilla but was kicked out for having an unpopular opinion, so then founded Brave.

An update to Firefox has now been released (v66.0.4) in which they have fixed the certificates issues

    • @EightImmortals Thanks for the heads up.

      Yes fixed now.
