Grain Mill with Grain Hopper for Homebrew - $75 with Free Postage Australia Wide (Was $125 + Postage) @ Homebrew Works

80

Here is a pretty good deal on decent mill for the all grain home brewers.

This is identical to the grain mills sold by many other vendors.

From the website:

Description
GRAIN MILL WITH GRUNT

What is the secret of grain milling success for the homebrewer?

We think it has more to do with the knurling on the rollers than anything else so we have produced our rollers with deep cut knurling(just run your finger across the roller to check it out preferably not while the machine is running)

Our rollers are produced from cold rolled steel and can be adjusted to suit the grain size so ensuring that the desired amount of crush can be obtained.

You can use the crank handle for small batches or attach a power drill to the shaft for effortless milling.

Use the slowest possible setting on the drill to get the best results.

(excludes wooden plate)

  • bargain.

  • Cheap. I own one of these - probably an older version as it's 3 years old. Works great.

  • Good price, think I paid slightly more as part of a bulk buy for mine back in the day.

Just be careful with the drill, burnt out one drill motor that way, always do it by hand now.

    • $100 on the ozito high spade handle variable speed (high torque) drill is a good option..
(also kegland has a high torque motor on the horizon if you're into gadgets)

  • +1

Good price, though I'd suggest waiting for Kegland's new grain mills if you're in the market
Based on their other stuff its likely to be a good value option and better quality than these 'knurled' mills

(not affiliated and not even in the market.. have a MM fluted grain mill which is a bit more expensive than this, just some home brewer advice)

    • As far as I can tell this is identical to the existing two roller mill currently sold by Kegland and is cheaper.

      Good for a backup.

Do you know if the new Kegland mills will be fluted?

      • As far as I can tell this is identical to the existing two roller mill currently

yep, same design everywhere, same basic chinese design)
(new grain mills will be different)

as for fluted, pretty sure they have said no as they have some new design that they claim to be better (testing on popcorn apparently, which is way tougher than grain)

Like i said, if you're in the market, might be worth waiting

  • Is the crush size adjustable?

    • yeah, using thumb screw setup on the base and dial on the side
