Dutch Oven / French Oven Recommendation

Looking for recommendations on a dutch / french oven large enough to roast a leg of lamb.

They're generally pretty expensive, so I was hoping someone could shed some lights on what brands to avoid etc.

In terms of bargain hunting, is it best to hunt around online? Do any of the brands have factory outlets etc?

Wait till Myers has le creuset on sale. Le creuset have a lifetime warranty for manufacturing faults, it’s not going to be covered if you damage it. If you can’t wait you can try peters of Kensington or amazon. I have a few and loved them.

If you want super cheap and don’t mind if they don’t last forever you can wait till Aldi has them but they don’t come in a huge size.

    • hi could you please tell me why you love them… (ie le creuset)? I guess I want one too but is it worth it?? what about staub? how are these compared to the aldi ones?
what do you use it for? I love cooking soups and currently use a big essteele per vita pot
      thanks

Have you tried Ikea. They do have ovens made from Europe and costs around $750 plus. I checked the build quality and features seems to be good.
It is a fan forced oven .

  • Have a look at Lodge on Amazon AU (with Prime). I believe the straight cast iron ones are made in USA, though the enamelled ones are made in China

    • Seconded. I have 2 plain cast iron ones. To fit a whole leg you're prob looking at 7quart+, if not 9.

      • PS I use them for baking bread. 5quart.
