Google Pay Suddenly Stopped Working since Yesterday

Hey guys

Question—has anyones google pay stopped working as of yesterday? It was all working fine for me until yesterday afternoon…

I ininitally thought there's soemthing wrong with my nfc but confirmed it's not broken. I then tried Commbank's tap n go app and it worked. So I narrowed down to Google pay' issue..

My phone is not rooted except I got nova launcher.. But again all working fine until yesterday.

Was there a release yesterday or something that screwed up google pay? I'm using huawei mate 20 pro BTW.

    Delete card from gpay.
    Add card back to gpay.
    Enjoy being back gpay.

      Ditto; Amex and Woolies Rewards card worked perfectly fine

    if googlepay goes down. i usually switch over to googlecash for a few days till its back up.

    You might wanna try downloading the "SafetyNet Test" app from the Play Store. It worked for me when GPay wasnt working for me on the Android Beta.
    Run the app once, tap on "Run Test" then close and delete the app.
    GPay should work then.

        Hmm. This is odd.
        In other comments it looks like you're not running Android Q B3, which is what I'm running. Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app?

    Try clearing the cache then data of the gpay app.

        what about google play service?

        Try clearing cache then data of gpay
        Then cache and data of google play service
        Restart device and try again.

          yeh I've tried everything…gonna try factory reset tonight if that doesn't work im sending it to Huawei to check.

            @sauce2k: Did you end up getting Google Pay working again? I'm a new Android user, and Google Pay isn't working for me after two successful transactions.

    If I saw this earlier, I could've probably shared something.

    When you say it didn't work, how so? Was there an error message? For example, I was getting "you can no longer use Google Pay on this device". Understand you've got this fixed now though.

    I had this issue because I've got a rooted device and my Google Pay stopped working around the time that you posted this. The solution for me at the time was to update Magisk to a newer version (beta though) and to hide a couple of additional Google Play Services to Magisk Hide.

    Hey! It happened to me too since couple of days ago! Kinda annoying. You never realise the convenience till you lose it.

      .. Phone reset fixed it
