Is It Possible Flight Centre Might Have a Good Deal? Re; Bali Trip

I'm on the task of organising an 8 night holiday in Bali for 3 adults and 1 kid departing Adelaide. Generally I'm pretty good at finding deals but there does not seem to be many deals for July/August. I have just found a deal on Flight Centre whom I have always disliked. Am I missing something but is this actually a decent deal? I'm a Hilton Gold member but we don't like their Bali hotels.

The total summary for nearly all of our preferred dates, being depart Saturday afternoon, return following Sunday, is:
2 x adults $1,199
Extra travellers +$1,223
Extra nights +$914
Season surcharge +$200
Checked baggage +$156 - 1 bag, 40kg
Card surcharge 1.3% +$63.58
Total Cost Includes all taxes $4,954.58
+ Extras - free airport transfer, free massage, free daily cocktail, free dinner

Cheapest flights I can find is around $400 each with no baggage = $1600
Baggage, just 1 suitcase 30kg = $150
Same hotel on hotels.com at early bid discount = $3500

Am I missing something here or is this actually a good deal?

  • $3k is an awful lot for accommodation in bali for 8 nights. You could get a private villa for under half that (air bnb has heaps) .
Unless you are set on that hotel, I'd look into that side of things much deeper.

    • Sorry I should have clarified, that's 2 rooms. So $1500 each for 8 nights.
True about the Villas, I looked into some but the others would rather stay in a hotel.

  • It says "from". There was an article, where it said when you talk with them, they size you up, then work out how much profit they can add to the package, which may be explained as seasonal differences. But when you push them on when you can get the advertised minimum, there is no answer.

Good luck though, if you try them.
