Where to buy used government IT equipments in bullk?

hi guys,
Apologies if its not an appropriate question.
I am looking for a place or a website where I can buy used IT equipments, LCDs, Laptops, CPUs in bulk (100-10,000 units). I have been searching for days for a website or government entities that organise such auctions. Does anyone have any guidance on this.

Any help would be really appreciated.

Not sure you'll find the quantum you're after but there's plenty govt auctions around.

    • I have looked at these websites but they do not have much and most of them are individual units. I emailed them anyway. Thank you though, really appreciate it.

    • You also get a free pickle with every successful bid.

    Wait till after the election.

    • George Christensen's hard rubbish.

  • if they've got value, they get auctioned off. Otherwise they're sent to recycling.

  • what are you looking for - please private message me thanks

    • i messaged you

I'd imagine that most probably go to reputable/established computer recyclers due to data security concerns.

The gov offers a contract for IT disposal. It is advertised in the usual places (tenders.gov.au and the states and local council equivalents).
The ones I looked at require you to collect and securely wipe devices, and keep good records.
You can then offer a price per unit for the handling - appropriate for older or broken stuff - or a price you will pay for newer units.
The catch is, you need to handle 100% of the ewaste. You can’t refuse to deal with, for example, the 3 person office in Broken Hill.

If you are just getting started, maybe go for some local councils to see if it pans out as you hope.

  • What's so good about ex govt computers? You try to sell off state secrets or something?

    • No such secrets anymore now that the Chinese has them. So is Uncle Sam spying into Oz.

    • they are usually cheaper and better condition. They are wiped before auctioned.

    • id be guessing that OP is trying to extract gold from PCBs and needs a garbage bin of CPUs
