  • Headphone jack

  • Huge 5000mah battery

  • Up to 256gb internal storage (available in 64GB / 128GB / 256GB capacities)

  • Dual SIM card support

  • MicroSD slot in addition to dual SIM (don't have to replace second SIM with the card)

  • FM Radio support (relatively uncommon on modern phones but nice to have)

  • Stereo speakers

Xiaomi also teased a Flagship killer 2.0

    Which is apparently Redmi K20

Not sure if confirmed but the specs are damn good! Thoughts?

The redmi series never had NFC, and it was the same with the Poco F1. If the Redmi K20 doesn't have NFC (or even band 28) that's gonna kill a lot of hype for it.

Asus came in big time, especially for Australians: Band 28, NFC, HEADPHONE JACK, SD855 chip, great camera (can be used as a selfie camera too), and a 5000 mAh for apparently $499 USD on the base model (which after a few months will be about AUD$600-700 which is a great price for that phone. But let's wait and see how Asus goes with this after a few months.

Looks decent, we need the competitors (ASUS, Lenovo, Xiaomi) to put pressure on to OnePlus, so they can release the OnePlus 7 Pro with an IP68 certification and at $100 cheaper.

    Otherwise, the industry grows stale.

Best thing about the OnePlus is the software support. Best thing about LG is the durability. Best thing about Samsung is the customer support (and IP68, microSD, and headphone jack). There's no competitor that "does it all", the S10e is a close second though and LG's usually great if/when bootloader unlocked.

Kernal source and unlocking tools are both up, so far great signs for this phone, especially from Asus!

Yeah open source and bootloader unlock is fantastic news for the longevity of the phone. Hopefully the killer specs/price point will bring developer interest at XDA

      • They've also opened the Asus Zenfone 6 forums in XDA too, the only thing that's left is for devs to start cooking up some custom ROMs and ports.

Also i've seen that the first update is needed for the devs to work on with the custom ROMs, and hopefully they give people the chance to get OTA after relocking the device if they don't like the custom ROMs for various reasons. Previous Zenfones had problems getting OTA after relocking their bootloaders, and people who unlock bootloaders the official Asus way can't relock their device which could be a problem. Hopefully Asus gives more software support and be friendly with the devs, after all they have a near stock ROM themselves after getting criticized for their previous Stock ROM which was filled with awful stuff.
