Looking for some undershirts for around $30 each

Hi,

I've recently moved from the middle of the desert to a place that snows and I'm finding my wardrobe to be a little too thin for the approaching climate. I've ordered some heavier weight material shirts from CT in the 3 for $99 deal and I have some nice wool knits and other jackets.

My only singlets are dark blue ones from my days as a farm hand and I'm finding there is a lot of show through with my lighter coloured button ups. So I'm looking for some cream/tan/light gray undershirts to help add some warmth without having to wear a bulky jacket all the time.

I have one RedRam merino undershirt that I love, but replacements from the same place are around $80 each from IceBreaker. Unfortunately my budget for this is about $100 and I want three undershirts so I think I'm looking at a different material.

What would you suggest?

I'm a larger guy standing about 192cm and weighing in at 140kg. I'm a 46 in dress shirts and a 48 in pants.

How about heat tech from Uniqlo? They’re priced at $20-30 each.

        • 1 Uniqlo. So many different options
    • Uniqlo airism range also a good option, not as warm as heat tech but feels super nice.

    • What is the quality like?

  • I use the vee neck essential shirts from cotton on. Last about a year wearing once a week.

  • I have a RedRam - it's great. It's meant to be the budget brand of IB if think (been a while). I sure as heck didn't pay $80. If you buy it on sale at an outlet, you might be able to get 3 for your budget.

    • It's well over 3 hours to the nearest outlet and I couldn't find them anywhere online, only the IB brand that cost that much. I got mine from an outlet originally when I was on holidays.

I've ended up ordering some from uniqlo.

Hey ozbargain, I need to brush my teeth. Can you please supply instructions.

Seriously, go to any shopping centre in the country and there are literally a million suitable undershirt options.

    • There isn't much available locally and it is a 3+ hour trip to a city to get a better range.

I thought it would be easier to ask people's experience with products than order multiple options and send back the ones I don't like, or plan a weekend shopping trip to somewhere with a decent range because that would cost me a fortune if I take my wife, and cost me even more if I went on a weekend shopping trip without her…
