^^^ This is the Mark I.
We ran out of stock of this model about 3 years ago. LOL.

On OzBargain, the only real surprise is that he didn't link to a 350D or the like :-D

    • that looks like the mark 1 version and not the mark 2? Happy to be corrected.

So, over 200 AUD saving compared to this deal if that'd be your bundle of choice.
And they do free shipping or in-store pickup.

Nice to see they've cleaned up their act with faulty products. Years ago when you clicked on the warranty section of DCW's website it palmed you off with contact details of manufacturers! As a result I have avoided them and discouraged many a photographer over the years from purchasing at DCW.

    • We hear you. That was actually not our intention. We have a dedicated customer service team in Sydney that work with all our suppliers on your behalf. We used to list the AU Manufacturers because we didn't want to be perceived as grey market importers.

Second this, brought a third party decent flash($500) from them. On the 13th Month, flash refused to work, past manufacture warranty. They were able to get it repaired, Top blokes there.
The grey option was $100 cheaper, I mostly buy local now due to the above service.

I understand this product is for professionals & commercial industry (and cheaper than cinema cameras).
But if paying $7.2 for a camera I would expect it to last a lifetime of professional work let alone the length of a career. And also good resale value.

    • only $7.2?

      • Ah you got me now you blocked the edit. *$7.2k + shipping.

A pro buys the right tool for the job. If it only lasts 2 years because the shutter wore out after 500k shots but earns them $200k that's a pretty good return.

      • I speak from doing photography as a hobby, but if it only lasts 2 years i would fix / replace the shutter (if that’s possible) and squeeze even more returns out of it.

My 1DX is now 6 years old with 600k plus on the shutter, my second one is on 320k. Only servicing is a sensor clean now and then and firmware updates. My 1D4 is ten years old and still trucking on the original shutter after 600k+ and original battery. My cams don't get babied but I don't abuse them either. All 3 get used regularly in a professional capacity in heat, cold and rain.

          • @nafe: Thanks for sharing. Sounds like Canon are doing a good job with their flagship.
I would try to equate it to $ per year, although I am in a different position to you and have little idea of how many shots = a lot.
I may have been too harsh with my original comment, though I attribute that to my own spending power.

          • @nafe: How good is that 1D MK IV hey? I have one lying about, I need to use it more.
Especially after the MK III fiasco, for Canon to bring out the MK IV and make such a great camera, well they needed to do that and they did!

  • question is whether accessories costs $996,, or else
