Good (Educational) Apps for Infant

I'm looking for some good educational apps for my infant who is around 2 years old. can someone recommend any ?

My infant loves youtube so Im trying to find something they will get more out of. Most apps that i've tried don't seem to be very good. I don't mind paying for a good app (with all my google survey credits).

Edit : people are assuming im trying to replace normal play time with an app. I'm not. It's for those times when it is simply not practical to be outside kicking a ball, or reading a book/playing with toys etc.

I have found Dr Panda, Sago Mini, Duck Duck Moose and Toca Boca to be entertaining to the spawns. Not much educational value..

Our 22month old loves Baby Shark so that is all that is played… even the wiggles would be better.

Anything can be educational with the right mind. Teach your child the mind set and let them play with whatever they want.

But is this actually a practical approach that work? 99% No

The best educational app is time with mum and dad. Having two of my own, I understand the time commitment of interacting is incredibly tiring and taxing. But at this age, an 'app' is being no more educational than flashing lights and noises. Your child's brain is hardwired to voraciously consume emotional and cognitive cues from those around them and an app is a very, very poor substitute for that. And, in fact, it is a double cost because that time spent using the app is time not spent developing the social and intellectual practice that you and I take for granted. An app is something adults think kids must like, possibly because it resides on the smartphone - a technological device of tremendous engineering. But really, such apps mean nothing.

  I get it, but I'm not looking for something to replace quality time with mum/dad. it's not practical to be doting over him 100% of the time so I'm Just after something that will keep the kid occupied for a bit that's better than YouTube

Reading eggs is OK but buy the full program not the single apps. It was about $80 per year without googling the price now.

Also, physical toys teach kids really important skills that apps just can’t. They engage the brain, help them improve their motor coordination, assist in muscle development, sensory development, all of these other things that a screen can’t.

  Im not talking about giving an ipad to my kid at home while I go do other stuff. Ive read all the research and I know it's not ideal, but I'm talking about those times when it's just practically not possible

We recommend that children aged under 2 years not routinely be given screen time unless video chatting, and that children aged 2 to 5 years only be exposed to 1 to 2 hours of high quality programming per day. Once your child begins school, then as a family, you need to discuss how best to use screen time to reduce excessive use.

I'll try to help you out since everyone else here seems to be on their high horse regarding screen time, as if they've never plonked a kid in front of Peppa Pig for 20 minutes so they can cook dinner.
These ones are not all "educational", but they're ones my young kids enjoy. I always try to buy games that have no ads or IAP.
