  I'm curious - what exactly is the difference between these and "normal" blenders? The end result is the same, no?

  This might last longer/blend faster, etc… but is it worth the premium?

    These ones can blend ice and carrots whole, and fast enough to cook pea soup via friction.

    In short, power and "durability".

          @redhaze1: Blendtec and Vitamix both same in performance wise, but smoke came from the Blendtec after two years so i swap it with Vitamix. Can't comment on Vitamix, its only few weeks old.
