BenQ W6000 1080P Projector $1997 + $50 Postage @ The Cable Connection

510

Hi Guys and Gals,

I have managed to secure an unbelievable deal on some brand new, Australian delivered Benq W6000 projectors. They come with Full Australian Warranty from Benq Australia (Not some grey imports like some!!)

These are referred to in the home theatre industry as a "Light Cannon" as they are so bright you could just about use them in full daylight.

I am not going to bore you with the specs, but if you are like me and love the numbers then have a look at this link:

http://benq.com.au/products/product_detail.cfm?product=1546&…

Check out shopbot, getprice, myshopping.com.au … this is a massive saving of $2000 off the RRP (not that it really matters as no one pays RRP) and betters most prices online by more than $600 (and up to $1000 in a lot of cases)! It is also over $900 better value than my previous price.

Pickup is of course free … and postage to capital cities is $50 (Outside a capital city will need a quote but should be only a little more depending on remoteness)

If you have any questions regarding this product, or any that I sell please feel free to contact me on (03) 9763 1000, by email at [email protected] or in store at 1 International Crt, Scoresby.

Lets see this one get to the front page :)

      @jv,

I think this is a little better worded than my last attempt.

Thanks for the positive vote too :)

      • fantastic price!

… hmm whats the RRP on one of these :P

        • +1

Dunno about RRP, but cheapest on Staticice & Shopbot were $2999! :o

        • +2

          @Wisc,

That is a great question! ;)

The actual RRP is even greater than I thought at $4499. But as pointed out to me last night the RRP doesn't really matter. Its the "go" price that counts!

        • +2

LMAO, nice… thats a fantastic response.

I like how you have worded the main add now… 600 bux of the best price is definatly nothing to sneeze at and a great bargain IMO.

shame its not a couple of months later… looking for a decent projector at this price… it would be hard to go past the w6000 for the w1000 (which i was planning on getting) which is still around 1300…

ahh well at least it gives me a few more months for prices to come down! as vinnie said, i got nothing but time…

        • +1

@wisc - send me an email to [email protected] - I might have a suprise for you on the W1000+ ;)

        • +1

email sent… actually the W1100/W1200 looks even better again…

can you let us know what you can do on that as well?

        • +1

Perhaps that could be this weeks bargain! ;)

  • +2

damn which i was richer, ide love this in my lounge room.

  • Great price, a not insubstantial full $1k cheaper than the competition! :)

Hi there, was contemplating signing up for an account here (now I had to!), nice attempt to move units while suggesting a GLOWING personal review…

Check this out if your interested in this projector:

    Gives quite a bad review.

nice attempt to move units while suggesting a GLOWING personal review…

Where? I don't see any over-the-top spruiking from the rep at all. Plenty of people on avforum.com and others places on the web refer to this unit (and others with similar light output) as a "light cannon", and the review you link to cites this as one of its major features.

      Gives quite a bad review.

Scotty (beam me up!) gives this a mixed review, IMHO; main complaint is colour accuracy. How does this unit compare to other home theatre projectors at this (sub $2000) price point, though?

    • +1

Very highly regarded projector, sounds like a good price too.

Plenty of opinions on the DTV Forums:
      http://www.dtvforum.info/index.php?showforum=63

Unfortunately they keep their group buy prices confidential now, so I can't compare.

      • +2

In regards to the group buy at DTV(in the spirit of trying not to wreck the concept of group buy privacy)…. as a ballpark figure this is a over a couple of hundred dollars cheaper than what it was offered for in april.

As for the comments on the projector itself, a lot of the other home cinema displays are nowhere near as bright as this. This is the best projector you're going to get with brightness, lens shifting and zoom capabilities. While the review sugguest it does lose accuracy, this is the projector to get if you want a big bright picture that runs at 1080p. It does display very well and unless you're a videophile I highly doubt you would be looking whole lot at the colour accuracy.

Ooh! 1 positive vote off the front page … how excitement!

  • Only one year or 1000hrs warranty on the lamp but I see 3yrs now on the projector. FYI I have used two lamps so far with my Epson in 3yrs,it seems that 2000hrs is about it for a lamp. ($$$'s)

    • thats actually quite a good warranty. a 2k epson only gives you 2yr warranty, with 6mth on lamp.

if i was after a new pj for around 2k, i'd get this, and paint a 150" screen.

      i'm currently on tw5500 with a 95" screen

  • DLP - make sure you or family members are not "rainbow effect" sensitive before purchase!

    • +1

newer ones should be much better, as they use a multi colourwheel, i was going to ask how many times each colour is on the wheel, (the more times they appear the less the rainbow affect is) but as its still a while before i buy mine didnt bother..

my mate has a dell one that you notice the rainbow on specially in dark scenes however after a while you get used to it.

    • +1

I have the PE8720, 5year old model (albeit 10k RRP, you would assume better parts used or component prices may just have come down that much!), i get no rainbow effect that I've ever noticed.

      • +1 I've got a 5 year old BenQ PE7700, no problems with rainbows. You need to do weird things like whip your head side to side to make them appear, not exactly normal viewing behaviour.

I've had dozens of family and friends in my theatre and to date, not a single person has complained about seeing rainbows or described any kind of discomfort when viewing.

I know I'm coming across as defensive, but I really think this outdated warning needs to be put to bed.

        • You need to do weird things like whip your head side to side to make them appear, not exactly normal viewing behaviour.

What about if you're watching the tennis? :p

  • how much would a replacement lamp cost?

    • +1

      search MAN!!!!

      http://www.pcconnectionexpress.com/IPA/Shop/Product/Detail.h…

about 300 bux according to static ice…

    • A quick Google shows $334 and up from there for the complete lamp and casing etc. Not sure if you can just buy a lamp and fit it to the casing yourself. If so it should be around the $200.

That's why the warranty time / hours on the lamp is important. (Epson and others are 3yrs) Not knocking the deal at all as this is a very good projector….

      • the epson you refers to is 3k+ street price. if 3k is the budget, then i agree the epson with 3yr lamp warranty is a good buy.

        • +1

…or cheaper if you know where to ask ;)

REP, good on you on a much better definition. You have much to learn, but you learn fast padawan! may the force be with you. IMO BenQ at these sort of level is much better than the epsons. I did a looooot of research before I purchased mine 3-5 years ago. Epsons are more data proj. rather than Home Cinema. Still good, but not as good. I don't know how quiet this one is but mine (PE8720), is VERY quiet, this is an important consideration if you watch movies at night, and you want the volume to not be too loud so you don't wake up the kids! Remember, usually the projector sits right above or behind your head!.

    • this one, w6000, is well known to be louder than average. main advantage is brightness.

  • Another tempting projector offer
Now need to see prices for screens and maybe a long hdmi cable.
unless a deal can made like epsons free screen offer etc etc.

  • +3

Nice stuff, especially for those people whom has a home cinema room. I never knew Benq makes such an expensive home cinema grade projector. Given the spec, this is a really nice price.

    • It wasnt that long ago the Benq W20000 had an RRP of $13,999.

In specification level the W6000 looks great and at 1/7th the price…I think it represents great value!

  • Can a bundle deal be made with a hdmi cable?

  • +1

    Hi Turbice,

Sure - Free Shipping for the HDMI cable Australia wide with the purchase of a W6000 :)

    Cheers,

    Matt

Lol. That's what I was trying to say but not too obviously. Lol

Amazing price for a great unit. Just picked one up from Matt. Highly recommended.
As a side, the picture is stunning. I'm running 150" and it's brilliant.

    • +2

yeah, i grabbed one yesterday, the service is FANTASTIC, considering i asked like 100 questions, kept him on the phone for 20 minutes, patient, fantastic prices on this and other items, well worth the drive to scorsby, though probably would have been cheaper to just freight it than for me to drive, at least i got it on the same day :D

good advice, friendly service, and seems honest which i liked the most, would definitely recommend them.

hey Matt, if your still around, you should open a store like yours in the north, we don't really have anything like that… most of the stuff like this is down in the southern suburbs.

pretty happy to report, even when i was "whipping my head back and forward" didnt see any rainbow with the unit…(i do see it on my mates dell projector)
