Hey, Woolies, Why aren't eGift Cards sent (&, by buyer, rec'd) ~Immediately?!?

Even costly software can be ~instantly downloaded
after being paid-for online.

So, why do Woolies eGift Cards take (per web app)
48 hours to arrive?

I chose eGift card, rather than paper ones for a reason.

But disappointment could not be avoided…

Woolies, are you listening, mate?

They’re trying to avoid credit card fraud.
Also this is ozbargain, not Woolworths.

      This is Woolies Haiku

      Ozbargain it sometimes is

      Where IVI posts their stuff

    • they always ask for SMS verification though

Woolies won't see your tears from here

    • So, you don't believe in Yelping or Tweeting
(ie, to get the word out, ask if any1 else
has sim. issue, etc. in case "target" sees it)?

      "Use your Consumer Power
      …or Lose it" IMO

    • Thanks for that.

They advised us that normally it's ~4-5 (or less)
(Wish they'd said that on their nominal recorded-
      message… ;~/

At least they'll be able to print IVIs email out on their receipt paper.

      • Got quite a chuckle out of this.

This is one of your best poems. Call it "Woolies, are you listening, mate?".

    • Hey! That's our IP, no?

  • It always seems to be inconsistent too, yesterday maybe took an hour to come through, other times, it's next working day.

Why get them, from woolies site for full price

Use Suncorp rewards or something and get five percent off and instan arrival

    • -1

      They likely went through cashrewards.

    • I don't get why 5% Off applies
if one goes thru an intermediary

(Wait! Maybe Woolies pays the "
      a commission, which they "share"
      with us…

Why doesn't Woolies cut out the
      middleman & boost our discount?

      Silly Woolies!)

Have you expressed your complaints to woolworths yet (if you truely want to "improve Australia") , or are just having another useless tantrum here?

    • I did, & the receiver agreed to pass on my sugg'n
that they make it more like "instantaneous" than
      now…

Gotta Push folks… Get 'em to apply Practical Wisdom!
Get 'em to ReThink their old + aging systems.

Let 'em know you want, & why not?

"Tantrum" is Ad Hominem falacy, IMO… be gone insultor!

  • They are instant through Macquarie bank. I still use RAA for the extra 1 percent off even if it takes a little longer.

    I pay for gift card

It does not arrive too quick

I haven't counted syllables in either Haiku [attempt]
      but - hey - if I've made just a -few- OzB-ers Creative
      I'm pleased!

Now, let's get Creative about ending the Ban On Nucl.En,
ESPECIALLY in Qld + NSW (depicted in BLACK for Coal use,
in ElectricityMap.org + app "Electricity Map"

      Vic's "World's Dirtyest Coal-Power Plant" also needs a
creative pop to push it off-the-grid, IMO)

KNOW NEW NUKES, ie, Liquid-Fuel Nuclear = Molten Salt Reactors

Oh, we got ours yesterday morn'
but also got a dup of same #'s
sent to us from outside Gift Cards

Woolies is "Deserving of Praise" IMO

        PS Trivia Q:

        • What's the name of the TV judge
(in a series) who INSISTS Lawyers
end each of their claims w/"IMO"?

For extra credit, name the Series.

  • It all depends on who you buy thru, mine is always instant, with an occasional one requiring Visa/Mastercard verification.

  • Hi OP, I share your pain. I too got caught out as I was committed to buy something but it didn’t get to me til after 24 hours.

@RockyRaccon, where did you get yours?

  • Mine take around the 2 hours through Cashrewards.
It would be nice if they were instant but they are not.

  • They used to take an hour or two, but they seemed to have upped their game lately as the last few (via CR and SB) have been arriving in about 10 mins.

Suncorp ones appear to be pre-purchased by them or something and are available instantly.

  • Stop using ZipPay to buy egift cards to buy your hubby Dazza a pack a Winnie Blues because you spent the kids lunch money on the pokies and the problem should sort it self out
