Kids GPS SOS Smart Watch

Hello.
Going overseas (China) for a family vacation.
Travelling with two young kids.
Are there any recommended GPS built in (works without SIM), SOS smart watch that they can wear?
Looking for a device that will let us track them down in the event that they wander off.

Thanks.

  • I'd love to know the answer to this too.

How could you send an SOS, without a sim? (unless you mean connected via bluetooth to a phone)

Otherwise there is plenty of watches with GPS in them. Most commonly they are found in the sports section, for runners or riders. Set you back over $100 a piece usually.

Keep in mind, in China they deliberately distort GPS, so its not all that helpful. If you have the longitude and latitude coordinates of a place you can still navigate, but you can't just enter the address into google maps like you can over here.

    • Any good GPS watch for kids?
Most are for runners and adults, and some don't even have GPS and relies on it being connected to the mobile.

  • Just use occy straps

      A bit barbaric?

  • You're not likely to be able to buy one here because we don't have 2G anymore.

    • Shanghai has 4G. So a 4G watch?

      • I think what Quantum is saying is that not many of these types of watches are sold here as many of them use the older 2G bands that have been turned off. These bands are still used in other countries, such as China.

I think 2G/3G are being turned off in China as well.

      • 4G would need a sim card, 2G is where you don't need a sim I believe. And yep China does still have 2G the problem would just be buying one here (kind of funny that you'd have to wait for the slow boat from China to get a product you intend to use … in China).

  • Have you looked at the Spacetalk watch - may fit the bill for you….

    • Yes, they are $350. But at this price range, you might as well go for the Apple Series 3?
iOS Find My Friends should work overseas?

  • Xiaomi's Mi Bunny Watch 3 seems like a good option?
Just have to find where to buy it.

  • Kid leashes aren't that uncommon there.

  • Would Amazfit Bip do the trick?
