Budget Smartphone with Best Camera

I have read the Best Budget (under$300) post .My wife only needs a basic smartphone but one with the best camera.
Processor speed, ram, storage, NFC etc are not relevant for her type of very basic usage so there may be other phones outside of those recommended in the Under$300 post that someone could recommend. Would prefer to buy within Australia for Warranty returns if needed. Thanks for any suggestions

  • My work supplied a Samsung Galaxy J3 6 - The camera is kind of ok, but on video you get 'wobble' if its not stable.
My Samsung S8 and previously S5 were and are very good, no 'wobble' i.e. if you use as a dashcam the vibrations make the picture wobble and it makes the resulting video torturous to watch.

So I guess what im saying is when dealing with budget phones for camera usage, be careful of more than 'does the still picture look ok'.
as there may be other issues like, how good is the focus, is it hard to get or in some lower light situations difficult to get focus.
If wanting to print it out, is the picture good as a printed version, and Google for reviews of the few you may be interested in.

  • This is quite difficult as budget phone might be on par in terms of performance with flagship phone, but the camera will not be on par with flagship. The most budget friendly that gives excellent camera result is the Pixel 3a(maybe Oppo R17 pro as well), but it still gonna cost $600 at least.

Any phone that cost less than that will still produce a quite good still photo in bright condition just like any smartphones nowadays, but when you compare it in low light condition, trying to adjust the focus, or any other harsh condition for photography then you will see a quite huge difference in the image quality.
